    *****Closed****** 1999 GMT400 K2500 Suburban Part Out

Carbon is all cleaned and the gasket material is gone. Taped the surface with Jalar to protect them during the paint. The underside of the intake runners is not painted. You could find a table saw table and deck them with a lil' 4000 grit? They came out great.

    Electric Fan Temps

In my opinion, one should come on with water temps and the second with A/C demand, as required. When I ripped the A/C from my Honda, the secondary fan was not required for cooling. It never overheated, once A/C was removed. That said, the GM system runs cooler-ish as a stock feature. If you run...

    Making the Fuel System Simple

Yes. Yet the screens could be clogged and the o-rings flat because they have been ignored during a pull through mod, right? Temporary fixes can burn up your engine.

    Making the Fuel System Simple

Dragsters are known to run internal/internal or internal/external or external/external; redundant pumps. In-tank OEM pump is preferred for a couple of reasons: External has recommended distance BELOW AND FROM the fuel tank, for suction and back flow. External pumps, tend to get very hot and...

Did I buy the right np241 TC for my truck??

Here's the conversion kit. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BF84D18H/ Same price on the Walters Engineering website. This looks much easier to install on the 241C or NP208C, than pulling the 4L80E 4wd unit apart, to add VSS. Would allow you to use any non-electronic or 4wd electronic transmission...

What new tools have you got lately?

4L80E Bushing Install press set: There's a good guy 3-D Printing these and a few other ingenious specialty tools for various truck transmissions and axle gear, carrier bearing installs, etc, on eBay. The colored plastic parts are seated into each of the 4L80E bushings, in the picture. He...

Wiper washer motor replacement. Who you buying from?

You can search for a newer year pump with the delay/timing module inside the pump. This removes the wiper switch and the stoopid delay circuit on the standard pumps made for the GM unit your truck came with. I thought it was the 2000 or 2001 pump from a van? Can't recall off hand. Try searching...

help me find this ticking noise on my truck ( 1978 Chevy C10 305 )

Your 3/8" rocker studs could be worn threads. If the same cylinders keep rattling loose, you are a candidate for Locks. Poly Locks, tall valve covers and at least 2 valve adjustments to the Poly-Locks. The studs might be worn and the stock style lock washers may not be locking anything. If...

Proportioning valve for 13" Brakes: 14-Bolt swap

Sourced a new Master Cylinder from a 1987 1 ton with 13" brakes. 1-1/8" master cylinder piston, vs 1" for 11" brakes. Still interested in a solution for the Proportioning valve? Anybody has a clue as to what works, or which valve to look for, the info would be helpful too.

    WTB Consoles, Orig. '81-'91, Blazer/Jimmy/Suburban

I have one for you Rusty. Tan. No damage, just a little dirty. The spring is there and disconnected so you can flip it back as a drink holder. The lock is there and requires some new springs and pins to work as expected. It fits kinda-sorta in my 87' Blazer, however it is from another year and...

    Hanging I-Beam from ceiling joists

This system braces the roof joists upwards. Force the roof joists up, instead of hanging from any engineered roof truss, if you can. This system will lift 2 tons, if the columns are welded, or cupped at the top. If I get to stay here, or take it with me to a new garage, I'll add a 1 ton trolley.

Anyone use these Littelfuse zcase terminals before?

The location your battery lives, is ideal for this unit. So close to the firewall, it's really the same as the firewall mount. Most of the Square Body's have the battery with reverse poles sitting very close to the core support. All the wires would be hanging in the breeze. What year square...

Anyone use these Littelfuse zcase terminals before?

It's cool. If you're good with it then make it rock. The covers look like they work well. I was wrong about the 300A bars they are as low as $18.00 now. And they are not copper. All the plastic base materials insulate and hold the bolt head from turning. Try not to over tighten or they can...

Anyone ever make/crimp their own high pressure hoses?

Agreed. 350 is your surge max. Air is different than fluids and the burst increases on a slide. Usually hard lines for your application have fins on them to radiate the heat. Crushing air gets hot, so it's the heat as well as the pressure. Wish I had a crimper for you to borrow.

Anyone ever make/crimp their own high pressure hoses?

Money is so tight everywhere Doppleganger. Can you think of a way to mod a pair of hard lines or using the old fittings with slight flares to hold the ring crimps from sliding off? For your aplication, your max pressure is only 150 (+- 40% burst over pressure = 210 psi?) That's not high...
