Rebuilding it so it can haul a camper reliably is still going to cost a good bit... 400 small block (ehhhh...)... vs Big Block or Diesel for towing... it would take a new engine to make it haul a 24' camper...

    Your pictures look like my neck of the woods... I did not realize you were in the Great White North... Your build sounds great... At altitude, you could be better served with a TBI, in my opinion... Hypers are good, dished for low octane... Gotcha. I was thinking you had not built it yet...

    Here's my cam using a Jasper Built Marine engine, circa 1994 GM Cast Iron Block, High Compression Forged Pistons, cast GM Performance Crank, Short Block with Vortec Heads and a 7116 intake and stock TBI, (for now)... 670-680 cfm TBI sooner or later... Comp 12-304-4 Flat Tappet... .406 / .406 252...

    355HO all the way... 10.6:1 forged flat tops...octane boosted every fill up... Don't forget the red Heat... Great gas mileage... Careful Cam selection during road use means a lot for the high compression engine... watch your rocker Poly locks, they will require adjustment, even after locking...

    Belt Squeak

    Use an aluminum yard stick straight edge. HF sells cheap ones that do the job... You'll need a hand. Most of my alignment was done with the fan removed. Just nut the water pump pulley on and straight edge away. When you finally get all the spacing just right and the washers set up perfectly...
