Engine Doesn’t Like Starting When Hot

All the suggestions above are good, and any one of them could be a possibility. Does your truck have headers? ^ This was happening to my Camaro last summer. Would start great cold, but hot it seemed like the timing was too advanced to start. In reality the old started was too tired to turn...

    WTB Gun Rack

Got a link to something equivalent to what you got? The ones I looked at online don't seem the same.

    Show your daily driver

Sorry in advance for the novel. I hope my description can paint you a good mental picture... The kit comes with a hollow guide bolt that the long drill bit fits in. That guide bolt gets threaded into the carrier above the broken bolt (the shaft locking bolts usually don't break off flush at...

    WTB Gun Rack

Let me know when they turn up. Hunting season is still a long ways off, so I'm in no particular rush. Thank you!

There's no need to use brute force to remove that pin with the broken bolt. I ran into the same issue when trying to replace axle tube seals a few years ago, and my buddy brought over a kit like shown in the link below. It worked well and he got the busted bolt out relatively easily. It's a...

    WTB Gun Rack

@Doppleganger that's exactly what I had in mind. Is it steel? How much do you want for it? While driving home from work yesterday, and further contemplating this idea, I realized that the rack could interfere with the headliner/trim that I've have and plan to add to my K20. Or maybe (best...

    WTB Gun Rack

I'm looking for a cheap gun rack that will work with a sliding rear window in my K20. I've seen some generic ones on Amazon, but I have no idea what will work well and look appropriate in our trucks. Let me know if you have something laying around collecting dust. If anyone has experience...

Haynes manual suggest silicone dielectric grease for ignition module?

^ I'm in this camp. As long as it's thermally conductive enough, it should work. That makes me wonder what the thermal conductivity of the paste they used in the factory was? If the new stuff (thermal paste, dielectric grease, etc.) has the same thermal conductivity value (K measured in...

    Power Steering pump

Sorry I don't know about the one bolt vs two bolt attachment, but I have one more thing on power steering for you @My78truck. Assuming you're ordering a new high pressure line, pay attention to what style you're ordering if the look of originality matters to you. The new high pressure lines...

That looks like heaven on Earth! Thanks for the follow up pic. It's awe-inspiring. We love lots of pictures here, if you haven't caught on to that already. Keep hanging around on the forum and you'll gradually figure out all the functionality. It's relatively user friendly.

    Windshield Woes

Interesting. I used a gasket with a separate lock strip. Maybe that's why it fit tight? The hardest part of my install was getting both ends of the lock strip in at the bottom center of the windshield, with the little clip on it. I had to roll around on my hood like a bikini model covered...

    Windshield Woes

Thanks for the clarification, and all the additional details. I agree that the sealant doesn't seem to be a requirement based on the videos available. I haven't had my K20 in the rain since I replaced the windshield and gasket with my dad last summer, so it hasn't really been tested yet, but...

    Windshield Woes

Randy, did your local glass guru install your windshield with or without sealant, urethane, etc.? I'm trying to establish whether or not the sealant excuse you got from Precision is justified, or a cop out explanation for when things don't work out as planned.

Welcome! How many squares do you have in your collection? Lots of us have more than one, but I'm wondering if @AyWoSch Motors might have some competition here ;)

    Bought a kid that isn't mine a 1976 Nova...

Everybody and their brother would've given $250 for that car, myself included if it was semi-local. Hell, my wife has been asking for her own hotrod, specifically a Nova. She likes the earlier 2 doors, like everyone else, but this would've fit the bill. It's sad to see the cookie crumble like...

Any tricks to thread speedo cable back through grommet in firewall?

I just did this a couple weeks ago. My K20 had a 2wd speedo cable that didn't reach the transfer case. I think it's easier to pull the grommet out of the firewall, position it approximately along the length of the speedo cable, and then feed it back through the firewall and poke the...

3/4 Ton Dana 44 vs 10 bolt caliper brackets (backing plates)

Do the caliper brackets/backing plates from a 3/4 ton Dana 44 interchange with the backing plates on a 3/4 ton 10 bolt? Are any minor modifications necessary? The driver's side plate is mostly missing from the 10 bolt under my truck, and I may have a lead on some Dana 44 backing plates. Just...

What's the best way to drain the gas tank?

I've never seen a screen either. I think you need to try harder with a smaller diameter hose. It is kind of a pain to get the hose down in position. I've had success siphoning with an old air compressor hose.

New to this forum and looking for best options for a new radiator

Welcome to the forum. Is the radiator leaking, or are you having a cooling issue? Cooling issues can commonly be caused by things other than the radiator.
