Trying to determine what converter I’ll need

Another option to look at is upgrading to a 4l60E or 6l80e trans. You'll need to get a controller, the transmission, as well as adapters. Make a list of prices for each option/benefit and figure out whats in your budget. Or......convert to manual ...probably cheaper. All to eliminate the...

look ahead, in the future, you'll have the intake off in less than 30 minutes. Valve covers and exhaust about 20 minutes. That time will be cut in half the next time you have to do it cuz you've been there, done that. Whatever you do to one head, do it to the other side as well as Sir...

91 Suburban Rear Speaker - Which Ohm?

get some contact cleaner, take the knobs off, spray around the shaft for around 3 seconds. Put the knobs back on and rotate them as fast as you can. Let it sit for about 15 minutes so the contact cleaner will dry. Crank it up and try it.

    truck runs hot

don't forget if you put a thermistor inline, you'll clip that in-rush current. Typically 35 amps (starting).....then stabilizing at 10 amps (normal running). This allows you to use a 15-20 amp relay as compared to a 40+ amp relay. About 3 bucks each and you save money. 1 per fan. If anyone...

    truck runs hot

After reading here about old school radiators and new replacements, I stuck with the original. When I did the swap though, I did use a Spectre fuel tank and not any issues out of it. For the fan I went ford windstar TYC brand

    Squishy brakes- help!

if you decide to change the master cylinder or the front calipers, go ahead and change the front hoses. They aren't expensive and you've got to bleed again anyway. [edit] while ur at it, change the rear one so they are the same age....and peace of mind.

What new tools have you got lately?

sorry but you spent about $110 too much. @nvrenuf [edit] looks like it does a lot more than I'd first read. My apologies. I really like the 20' cable that comes with it. Great for testing fuel sender issues and long distance issues.

    What size inverter?

Also, you can go smaller, just don't charge them all at the same time.
  12. Camar068

    What size inverter?

take all the chargers you want to run and add up the wattage written on charger or power brick. If they don't have wattage listed, Multiply 120 volts by the amperage to get the wattage for each. After that, take your total and get one that is at least 10-20% higher than that.

Need advice on what to do with old bed liner and while we are at it sealing up these scratches.

I'm guessing as slick as paint if not a little grippier? But not a "super sled" as plastic liners? How many cans to cover the bed? Thanks Dude 'Maro

Need advice on what to do with old bed liner and while we are at it sealing up these scratches.

sorry I haven't read all the posts and not gonna. I thought about the same thing. I hate grippy beds. They have a purpose, but not one I like. When I redid my bed floor, I put good ol' rustoleum 2x spray paint on it. My thoughts, OMG....it's scratched! grab a can scuff and fix. A lot...

    Dry erase board clean up

Rubbing compound and a pad at slow speed will get those dry erase marker stains out in seconds. Honestly could probably do it by hand as well. Did a 2x4 board and I was done in less than a minute. I use it to list steps in a project as well as letting the grandkids draw on. Thought I'd share

Where does negative battery cable ground wire attach?

Amen! Battery to block or alt bracket, then each side of block to frame, then each side of block to cab, and then frame to radiator support on both sides.
