How long does your Q-jet hold fuel in the bowl?

I just run a boost pump full time, as close to the tank as possible. Turn on the key ... hear the pump clatter a few moments and then go silent ... start engine. The Fram filters with the check valve? We always tossed them out or poked it out of the filter. They were troublesome and hurt stock...

15x7-6 lug vintage aluminum turbine mag

I've got three with no rubber on them and a loner with my spare for my K5. I can sell them all if you like - but I know two of them are smaller - like we did in the 1960s with biggies on back and smaller tires and rims on front. They are all 15"ers though. I can take pixs - but I really want...

Looking for no bs, tested, quality vacuum caps..

Hose and .177 BBs. I used to be called The BB King of Anaheim when we had trouble with the early EGR systems.

No problem ... yours is a salient thought.

Looking for no bs, tested, quality vacuum caps..

You may not go able to do that if they are different vacuum signals. If one is ported and the other is manifold - or vice versa - you can create problems by sucking raw gas into the baseplate of the carb without controlling the mixture.

15x7-6 lug vintage aluminum turbine mag

I've got a set of them without tires. They are called "Turbines" in the day when they were more popular.

'86 K5 Rear Folding Seat For Sale

No holes of which I am aware - I just don't use it any more and it's taking up a lot of space in my shop - so it's for sale. It folds, has the armrests - in that GM Classic two-tone blueish fabric. Make me an offer ... I'm in 59840, Montana.

    Electric Rear Window

I'm going to open the panel again - I hate to open that panel --- and this time I'll look for that switch. The week is early and my chores are close to caught-up on - so I might get time to do it. I wish the switch was remote mounted off to the side with a relay rod to the center for the...

    Turn Signal Stalk .....

That's so easy a cave man can do it. Seriously I have changed the steppers on a few dashboards and added LEDs (of colors) to them for friends - so soldering in a few caps ain't gonna be hard. Thanks for the info - it's very nicely done.

    Electric Rear Window

It works - but only from the front switch. Years ago I fixed the cable drive and it will NEVER fail again - I swear! The fix is IN! But the key switch doesn't work - and frankly, I never even noticed if it is accessible or not with the window UP. Any clues as to why the keyswitch failed -...

    Weird wiper delay video

If you look at the power transistor - that's why the thermopaste (white gunk) is on it - and the heat sink makes contact with it to take the heat out of that transistor. They run particularly hot and need all the help they can get.

    Weird wiper delay video

I can solder the little LEDs onto a few boards for the gauges - also changed out all the stepper motors - successfully. I think I will be able to replace some caps OK enuff ... right?

    Turn Signal Stalk .....

I'd like that if I wanted to have all that Cruise Control stuff still on the stalk. Thank-you very much for the offer and information. Stick around though - I may need you later!

    Turn Signal Stalk .....

I'd like to see that module repair post. Pretty sure it'll be the problem ... but I still like the simpler stalk.

    Turn Signal Stalk .....

.... besides ... I like getting rid of the C/C and the RESUME SWITCH. Win-win for me ... almost.

    Turn Signal Stalk .....

I kinda though that too. I have a second, reman'd wiper motor, and it behaves exactly the same, so I know the existing motor is okay. Sadly, there are no more delay modules ... but there are some PNP replacement modules on Amazon although they have a different footprint. Hopefully, it's...

    Turn Signal Stalk .....

Sorry ... that was my Amazon account page and it won't open for anyone but me. Here's one that anyone can see. Link here for pix. I guess I just jerk the old one out and insert the new one ... right? I kinda remember doing that many years ago for a customer or two. Thanks for the quick reply.

    Turn Signal Stalk .....

I have an '86 K5 that had Cruise Control in it - it's long gone along with the computer - etc. Now I have trouble with the intermittent wipers - in that the wires that come out of the turn signal stalk are broken and too short to repair. I found this ---> ACDelco 22510733 ... at Amazon...

    Which welder?

Being an old USN Shipfitter, I always went with a stick machine. I hesitated to get wire and at first I was sure that I made a bad choice in a 120V MIG machine. Then I got a 220V - and I won't have less since I burned that little 120V welder on some sheet metal ... so I figgered they were...

Mechanical or Electric Fuel Pump.... Thoughts?

Make sure the choke works correctly - a lost art - and I use electric chokes with a vacuum choke break on my Q-Jet. I put my electric pump back at the tank to push the fuel - which is the best way to move gas without running the vapor pressure so low that it can vapor lock on a hot day or...

What have you done to your square lately??

I know what you mean. Recently found a NOS gearshift knob for my 1956 Case VAH/VAC tractor. It's a small thing - but a neat thing. The old one was JB welded together from three pieces!

What have you done to your square lately??

I went out to my K5 and started it up - the first time in about 6 weeks, engaged the WARN hubs because it's snowing again. I ran it around the block in 2WD and on the straightaways, I slipped it into 4WD-H to exercise it all. After running for over an hour, I checked fluids (all 10-4) and the...

    Headliners

FWIW ---> if the material is screwed up yet the cardboard is still pretty good, you can replace the headliner fabric very easily with a few razor blades, some 3M BLUE contact cement spray and foam backed fabric that you can buy in a lot of fabric shops in metro areas. In the sticks - well, I...
