How a carbureted engine should start and run cold

Not to argue but, the 84 has a pretty big cam in it (Don't know bought it that way) and does idle a little rich, and is the easiest to start hot. It runs and pulls like a bat out of hell, plugs, smell or exhaust pipes don't show a rich condition in any of the 3. Sitting here thinking about it...

How a carbureted engine should start and run cold

Yes Sir, that's what I was figuring. I don't have any Q jets that in't just plum wore out and past my patientce to rebuild. When i was really set on fixing this problem, found and joined this forum, I guess all the phenolic spacers were stuck in the Suez or waiting off Calif? Haven't looked of...

How a carbureted engine should start and run cold

This is interesting. Have no problem getting all of mine to start cold. I don't run a choke, it gets cold here and like the engine to spin a bit before it fires, so in the winter let it spin 3 to 5 seconds (depends on truck and starter and battery) let it get the oil moving then hit the throttle...

    Holy Grail of Squarebodys

4 on the floor, 5th under the seat. Electric nothing, wires suck. To damn lazy to roll the window down, ride hot, I don't care. Design is fine, don't need the steering wheel anywhere else, shut up and drive. I have my dream truck, twice, in the 84, and 82, if I could find either in a round eye...

What new tools have you got lately?

I never walk by a "thrown away" welding hood without checking out the lense. Finally found what I've been looking for. An old real, pristine Cool Blue in shade 10! Now, to find 3 more.

1987 V30 Dual rear wheel axles?

A tag axle, why not just get a 7k trailer axle? Be eaiser to mount and do the same job. With a tag you have to pay attention where your going, or you won't get there.

What new tools have you got lately?

Believe you were correct in your memory. Yes, Bauer so far has proved themselves as good tools to me as of now. Have a porta band and 7 inch grinder, both fine tools, so far. Use alot of grinders, found it more efficient to just get a 4 1/2 inch, or a 5" Makita grinder for each operation. Ie...

    Educate me on a 12 bolt in a 78 K 10?

Been a minute, and I may be recalling wrong? Have it in my head @Turbo4whl was talking about a 12 bolt car. Personally I went with the 9 inch, mainly because I got one for a 100 bucks, and it and a 12 bolt car is the only ones I could find the lower (5.6 or lower, I got a 6.2) ratios for. Good luck.

What new tools have you got lately?

Bet you are suprised with them. Been using them for years. "Real" painters tend to cuss them, but they spray paint evenly and personally I dont know what else a paint gun can do. Yes, easy cheap clean up, and with a little care they last a long time.
