    Flat beds anyone?

I do like the look of the wood decked flat beds. Being how my trucks still work for a living, I will go with a steel deck.

Stick,Mig, Carbon Arc, Gas, and now Tig. Let's talk.

Not that I disagree, but, I have always started kids out with oxy gas welding. It is "basically" every manual welding process in very slow motion. Agree, stick is the next best place to start.

Stick,Mig, Carbon Arc, Gas, and now Tig. Let's talk.

As said before, each process has it's place. Being able to, and set up to TIG is handy, the Thunderbolt you spoke of does make for a nice tig machine. The one I had was, created a nice soft arc, burnt it up tig welding with it as well. Not sure that running it electrode negative doesn't reduce...

Just don't see keeping the Dodge jokes to a minimum as a possibility. Though anyone who drives a Dodge has to have a sense of humor!!

    Wood heater/stove. What y'all think?

Was not meaning to sound rude. Neither do I have insurance. It's mine, if I burn it down it's my problem, no one else's. Its a metal building built in the 70's, it has some air flow. Doubt I would ever get a good enough fire in that thing to catch the concrete under it on fire....or even hot...

    Wood heater/stove. What y'all think?

My Pa's old axe. Head was made by a man in central Louisiana in the 50's who Pa bought it from. No end to the wood its split. I'll probably break another handle out of it, lol.

    Wood heater/stove. What y'all think?

On the bright side. You chop a lot less wood than I do per BTU! I've missed chopping wood going to be nice to have a reason to do it!

    Wood heater/stove. What y'all think?

Do not disagree wanted the vertical run but, that would have made the cook top to small. This thing is made with 100% scrap, or drop. The flew is all old irragation pipe a farmer give me out of his pile. Thanks

    Wood heater/stove. What y'all think?

Yes sir, have an idea to put a fitting in the elbow to be able to unplug and blow it out in the fall. Good thing is, flew is 12 gauge pipe, elbow up past the damper is 6 inch sch 40, so? And I'm in a desert wet wood is hard to come by! Thanks!!

    Wood heater/stove. What y'all think?

The horizontal ish is 15 feet, agree not ideal. But, it is close to center of the building and there was already a round hole there, so??? Just lit it yesterday and you are correct it is a pain to light dead cold. Draws good, little help from a Victor wrench it gets going. Has amazed me its...

    Wood heater/stove. What y'all think?

Its moving right at 15 feet, and rising right at 6 inches. Which seems to be a little to much rise in they distance. The moisture burnt out of the wood condensate and drips back down the pipe? So it's to much slope, or not enough???

    Wood heater/stove. What y'all think?

It's up and running. Works good, we had 60 mph wind gusts today and it just puffed a little smoke.

Are cheap welding helmets any good? (recommendations?)

Damn 200 don't need you there except to change the rod. Execelent welding machines, possibly the best ever made. Have never used a 250, though have heard they do not run near as smooth as a 200? !00% correct on the old tombstone welders, could build a battleship with them! Hurts my heart that...

Nice rig! That a 200 or 250? Couldn't make out the exciter cover??? Alot of work on a truck bed. I'm ready to redo mine but, it's on down the list....

Are cheap welding helmets any good? (recommendations?)

Also my experience with auto dark. If your doing a job and spend an hour a day actually welding, they are fine. If your spending 4 or 5 plus hours looking at a puddle, my eyes were always scratchy at the end of the day. Plus, being how I learned to weld with a stick, then learned to flip my...
