    A casting date would be a start. If it's a one piece you'll need to drop the transmission, if a two piece drop the oil pan.

    If the a/c compressor is on the same side, it should ,could also have some made up.

    My money would be in the windshield gasket area. Remove the cowl screening and dump water in, avoiding the lower windshield.

    Yes, any sensor that is multi-piece can have the center take off. I've had an a/c high pressure sensor blow out, it left the threaded part in place.

    I had a mid 80's square that had a poor fusible link connection and the headlights would flicker. I'm a big fan of checking for poor grounds and hidden harness insulation cracks.

    225 to 250 would be my guess. I always thought the flow of 305 heads were the limiting factor for more HP. There is no substitute for cubic inches.

    Before shooting the parts cannon at it, make sure the driveshaft u-joints are ok.

    I had a CUCV Blazer and added a Vintage system. I sound deadened and insulated the crap out of it. It was not as cool as I would have liked in the front and poor in the back. I would think a burb needs f&r a/c.

    I had to explain to an engineer friend of mine the relation to pressure and volume when he launched his SBC. Your engine probably sucked up a bit of air when most of the oil went up the pushrods and hung around the lifter valley & valve cover. Make sure you don't have the nylon type timing gear...

    I just changed a top leaf on a K3500 C&C with 9 leafs. The top leaf for a 1/2 ton 2WD might have a different center and length. I sold the truck, so I can't measure for you. I used the catalog from https://www.generalspringkc.com/ for measurements.

    Driveline vibration

    Get the rear wheels off the ground and run it, if the vibration is still there, remove the wheels & run it. If the shakes go away, it's the tires or wheels. Remove the driveshaft, if the vibration goes away there's your problem. Start from the rear disconnecting components to isolate the vibration.

    I started left foot braking in the early to mid 70's. I worked in a body shop and it was pounded into my head to always start a vehicle with the left foot on the brake. There was no telling what the accident messed up and the vehicle could start in gear.
