Welcome. Looks like you found a nice truck. My K30 has a 454/Th400/NP205 set up with 3.73's. Tires are 32.8" inches tall (305/70R16). At 55 MPH I'm turning 2000 RPM. My truck has a 3" lift for reference.- Craig 85

What year front clip do you like best?
Back in 1995 I had an '80 3+3 the rage was to update them to the 89-91 front end, but I was cheap and went to the '85. I like the 73-78 fronts the best, but also like the look of and '84 Chevy. Zero Rates on the Front Axle
With the lift and moving the axle forward with the Zero Rate you may be at a neutral position with the sway bar. Even if its not, the sway bar end link would be pushed to the rear a little. Since the suspension mainly moves to the rear for compression, it may not be an issue as it would be...- Craig 85

Zero Rates on the Front Axle
If you still want to run the sway bar I an vouch for the ORD sway bar disconnects. I've run them on the last two trucks. Definitely lefts the bar work separate from the spring.- Craig 85

I googled this, so someone correct me if I'm wrong. The 84-86 K30 Military (CUCV) trucks had this set up. I will make an assumption one would fit out of those trucks without issue. Intro to forum and a hub story
FYI you don't pack the bearings on a 14 bolt FF rear end. The are an oil bath seat up. There is only one seal on the rear of the hub. Years ago I bought an '80 C20 3+3 (basically a C30 SRW) that had a 14 bolt FF. The PO had greased the rear bearings and sent gear oil everywhere on the rear...- Craig 85

K20 c6p rear axle questions
I had an '85 C20 and an '88 C20 Suburban both had 454's and came with 14 bolt FF. The '87 K20 I had came with a SF 14 bolt. All were 4.10 trucks with 13" drums.- Craig 85

K20 c6p rear axle questions
One ton's are not direct bolt in. Shock mounts are opposite and spring pads are more in board. See my K30 SRW 14 bolt below. A 3/4 ton 14 bolt FF is a direct bolt in though. If you add a FF rear end, you will need to lengthen your drive shaft. The 9.5" has a longer snout.- Craig 85

Welcome. For reference the old 16.5 x 33's are the same height as my 305/70R16s. 305's are about 1 cm narrower in section width. Mine are on 16x10s with 4.5" of BS. 16's tend to be the least expensive.- Craig 85

Replace idiot lights with gauges.
I had an '80 C20 3+3 with idiot lights. I was able to fit some Autometer/Autogauge mechanical gauges into the factory idiot light locations. Sorry I don't have any pictures, this was 1995. Help on Dana 44 sub-model
In a brief search, it appears there is a small and large bearing D44. Here's a link to another company. Maybe they can help a little more. Looks like 76 was the last year for small bearing and 1977 starts large...- Craig 85

whooshing sound from under the dash when I press on the brakes
Another possibility is there is a valve under the dash near the brake pedal if you have cruise control. This hose hose hooks up to the cruise control pod (between the TBI and power brake booster here) and runs through the firewall to the cruise cut off switch. -

C20 compared to c10
It's been mentioned here before, but if I recall the C10/C20 frames are similar, but infact the metal is slightly thinker on the 3/4 ton. I thought the cab mount were the same between the C/K. I've never changed them though. @BSquared the C/K frames are totally different from the firewall...- Craig 85
