Welcome. I live in Commieformia and have to get my truck tested every two years. Napa had the ported vacuum switches I needed, but they are getting hard to come by and there are numerous variations even for the same year truck depending on Fed or Calif emissions.
Not sure what all years had them, but the oldest I found for light duty vehicle was 65-67 Big Block Chevelles and El Caminos. OPGI sells reproduction parts for it. My guess back then was due to a lack of vacuum for power brakes. I also found the same system used in 69-72 BBC trucks.
My 80...
No. This truck had a 4" Tuff Country EZ Ride front springs with a 4" rear block and the stock 1/2 ton rear springs. With the ORD sway bar disconnect kit, it was the best riding 4WD Square Body I've had out of the 6 I've owned.
In my case, my K15 had a 12 bolt, but 3.08 gears and a peg leg. It already had a 4' lift and 33's. I didn't like the wheels it came with and by the time I changed gears and wheels plus add a posi, it wasn't going to be worth it. I found a set of 3/4 ton axles with 13" rear drums and a limited...
You have a Hydro-boost system. The first picture is my '85 K30 454 remote reservoir location. I'm not sure about the SBC location, but it's probably similar. Picture is not my truck, but a picture of the bracket. I have seen guys mount the reservoir on the core support and even the left...
@swilson143 just an idea I had after your post above. GM does make Tow/Haul switches for a few trucks in case someone wants a factory looking switch. I looked at a few of the pictures and they appear to be a 2-pin connector, but I don't know if it is a momentary type switch or on/off.

I use Permatex Right Stuff gasket maker and a gasket. They have small bottles available.
Also when the cover is off, look at the numbers stamped on the ring gear. It will tell you the ratio you actually have. In the photos below, the 7 digit numbers starting with 3 is the part number. 10...
I wanted the cloth inserts and Silverado style trim, but not the map pockets or pull straps. It will look similar to what I did on my '79, except those were Scottsdale door panels.
Here's my before and after. Originally had an old Rancho 4" lift on my '79. 33x12.50x15's with 15x10 wheels. Went to a 4" Tuff Country EZ Ride when I did the axle swap. Tires are 33x12.50x16.5's (32.8"). The 16.5's are the same height as a 305/70R16.
The last photo is my K30 with 305's...
Not sure if it's dye or paint. The back side is black plastic. FYI they must paint them to order. I had a hand written date on the back with the color code and a date 3 days after I ordered them.
I been collecting parts to restore the interior on my '85 K30, but I have yet to find replacements for Silverado/Sierra Classic door panels. Most of the door panels you see delete the cloth insert. I found that Coverlay Mfg makes the correct panel design to fit the cloth inserts. The panels...
I got mine at Napa a few years ago. It definitely narrower than OEM due to the revised design. NRC NC3642A shows sold out for ship to home, but Oreilly's appears to have a Murray Brand available Part 7-3642. $121...
In the early 90's my '77 K5 I had a 6" lift and tried using some drop down blocks on the front mounts; they didn't line up either. Back then I went without the blocks and forced it. I'm sure that's why it rode stiff even though it was a soft ride Skyjacker lift.
@K5ride I must be a little older than you. The program started in 1984. I recall it all too well.
I drove a '64 Chevelle at the time that my dad bought new off the lot in January 1964. We still had the original sales receipt. Well in June of '84 our reg came due and we got a notification...
