Warped air horn on the Q-jet

I have a few extra Q-Jets that I have for parts only, so if you need a new airhorn, there's a chance I'd have one you could use. Just need pics of yours that I can compare to mine.

    Motor mounts help!

Not sure on the later years, but early years you could bolt the mounts to the frame in two different positions depending on whether a small block or big block engine is installed.

    cam and carburator question

The question of how much carb to run on an engine shouldn't be limited to it's size... Size is probably one of the biggest considerations, but it's volumetric efficiency also plays a large part in the air requirements of the engine. Yes, a Q-Jet has a 750CFM flow rating, but it can be adjusted...

    Best fitting big block headers?

Cool... I'll see if I can't snap a few this weekend then.

    edlebrock 600 vs q jet

All of my experience is with Q-Jets... But, I will say it all depends on how they're tuned. Either tuned correctly for the engine will run good, but the Q-Jets are known for better efficiency on the whole.

    Best fitting big block headers?

I'll see if I can find some pictures, but everything clears nicely... If I can't find pics, then I probably won't be able to get any until this weekend.

    Best fitting big block headers?

I've got the summit brand on the truck and they probably would've been fine if I had run regular head bolts, but I put in head studs and subsequently had to clearance the flange on the headers for the studs.

Valve covers & engine covered in oil

Do the valve covers have baffles under the breather cap and PCV? I had that problem until I reinstalled the baffles to keep oil from splashing up into the breather caps.

Need help finding a Ford 9in brake part

That's cool... It's looking like I'll have the opportunity to start workin' 9-80s, so that might give me more chances to get out.

Need help finding a Ford 9in brake part

I wish... None planned at the moment. Been busy with baby prep and trying to figure out how I want to get the bed back in shape and on the truck.

Need help finding a Ford 9in brake part

Fabbing one up shouldn't take too much effort if you can't find 'em... I'll keep a spare thought on it and see if I can come up with anywhere to find one though.

My pitman arm has a lot of wear where the tie rod goes in....

I wonder how it compares to a Pitman arm from a C10... might check into that...

My pitman arm has a lot of wear where the tie rod goes in....

Should be able to find a stock replacement at O'Reilly, Autozone, or Rock Auto really easily.

Need help.. Looking to buy torque converter.

Doing a bit more research and finding out that my fingers are ahead of my brain... You want the stall to be about or right before peak power, so you are probably about right on the stall speed. I'm sorry... I was also thinking stock stall speed being a bit less than 1800 RPM.

Need help.. Looking to buy torque converter.

If this one is the one you have http://www.summitracing.com/parts/nal-24502586 Then I would stay with a stall of around 1800-2000... Most TH350s didn't have a lockup converter.

    Mufflers - need input/advice

I prefer the magnaflows over other things I've heard up to this point. It was fairly drony until I put the Pypes system with the x pipe... It's a bit more quiet and tolerable, but I don't know how much until I get the bed back on. A still more quiet alternative would be a Turbo style muffler...

What have you done to your square lately??

Tuned the idle a bit and took it for a spin after tightening the body bolts. Now I just have to get the bed back together so I can take it out on the main roads and clear out the cobwebs.

    Vinegar Rust Removal

You can cut the vinegar with water if you need to, but I have a feeling it reduces how much rust it'll take care of. I don't think I've cut it by more than 50% on the extreme side in my experimentation.

    Vinegar Rust Removal

I didn't specify explicitly above, but basically you have to have the part submerged in the vinegar. The biggest con for me is the time it takes, but for $2-3 a gallon on the vinegar, it sure beats the $20+ price tag on less than a gallon of EvapoRust.

Front Sway / Stabilizer Bar Retrofit Kit w/ Brackets

The brackets look like the ones on my '73, so I'm guessing it would fit the whole gambit of squares from '73-87.

    Vinegar Rust Removal

Along the same lines of the molasses method in regard to home remedies of rust removal I heard something about using vinegar to flush out a cooling system on vehicles and the rust removing properties of vinegar. So, I decided I'd try it. Takes a bit longer than say EvapoRust or something...
