Nice... Those printed circuits are a pain. I've done one on mine and I'm just happy to have it in there and working. -
Frame coating...
From what I've gathered most people prefer to undercoat with POR15 and could theoretically be used for anything not seen by the sun. If you do your leaf springs though, just do the outsides as the leaves need to be able to slide on each other just a bit. -

454 Block ID
If you take everything off the back of the block it should have a one piece rear main seal for the Gen V and VI blocks... The Mark IV had a two piece rear main seal.- SlickGTP

TH-400 Speedometer Gears
Does anyone know where a good source of decently priced speedometer gears would be? Ideally I'd like to find a 21 tooth drive gear, but that's unlikely from what I've seen looking around. My other option is to keep my 1.3 ratio adapter and run a 39 tooth driven gear for which I'd also need a...- SlickGTP

What have you done to your square lately??
Got the oil changed and new ratio adapter installed for the speedometer. Found out I was backwards on my math and I went in the wrong direction with the adapter. Ooops.... -

Turbo 400?
The TH-400 is a pretty beefy transmission but it's only a 3 speed. To get the overdrive you would either have to buy a gear vendors overdrive unit or go with a different transmission all together. Stock Converter Stall Speed?
Awesome... Thanks guys. Just trying to see how much I can get away with upgrading my Torque Converter when the time comes. I think the cam specs call for a 2400 stall, but I'm hoping to get away with something a little lower than that for street manners and mileage sake.- SlickGTP

Consumer Awareness when buying parts !!!
Thanks for the reminder... I've seen stuff like that before. More recently I've found out that it's quite easy and much cheaper to buy components for different systems like P/S pumps, alternators, and such to rebuild them myself rather than get re-manned units from the store. -

Helped a friend move yesterday and got to test all my tuning and small fixes. Truck is definitely running better and the kickdown switch works. I think I'm getting a bit better gas mileage as well. :waytogo: -

Thanks! I have yet to verify, but I think there might be a different between the early and late model squares, but only in the direction that switch is activated. Basically if there is a difference I think it's the orientation of the base of the switch to the metal bracket/cover that's...- SlickGTP

I already know it's the switch... Continuity test confirmed that it wasn't making contact. Pulled it apart last night and the anti-corrosion stuff inside had hardened up after 9 years of disuse and was acting like a insulator. I knocked the crud off and put the switch back together, but won't... -

Been tuning the carburetor and driving her around on the weekends... She's getting there, but I found out that my kickdown switch for the TH400 is dead. Anyone know where to get one local or am I stuck having to track it down online? -
