What have you done to your square lately??

For about the 10th time since I have had her I had to reglue the mirror. Used a different kind and one drop as per the instructions. It was a fat drop, but only one. We shall see. :boxing:

1975 Chevy Camaro - One Owner and Only 31K original miles!! - $3,900

Well, I meant to say hockey stick ... :) Look at the bottom left pic on the link for the 78 - 81 standard panel. The armrest has an angled thin part that goes upward and mounts to the door with a single screw. The inside of that pull is plastic that will break and now you have a flopping...

1975 Chevy Camaro - One Owner and Only 31K original miles!! - $3,900

I did not think the "hockey stick" door handles showed up until 1978. Positive on that for Firebirds. Hmm. Well, if this is right, looks like the LT trim got ripped off. I don't like the way they break if you pull too close to the upper mount of the armrest...

My 1973 gmc sierra grand is squeaking

100% troof ! :anitoof: All my vehicles are older to old as well and none of them are quiet. The wife's Ranger pickup is an 01 and probably the quietest of the bunch in the interior with the windows up. Don't really care for the most part what it sounds like outside - it's PAID FOR...

Should I go topless this summer?

I'd say try it ! :) Full disclosure - all the 2 door sport utes I have owned had the fully removable top, not just the half cap. Not as much fun (my .02) for the driver, BUT there is some shade from the direct sun that way. All of them are relatively heavy - while I have done the metal full...

    Broken shift tube?

I think the spot welds would work, but I would think finding some sort of shearable plastic rivets similar to the original would be safer - just in case. Maybe the tube from a Bic pen would be the right size, or perhaps the round plastic hanger model parts are attached to would work and you...

What have you done to your square lately??

Only 10 months since the last time, but, wash and wax day. Still need to wash the grille, the wheels, and the bumpers but all the main sheet metal is waxed. I worked for 9 months at a place that had a caliche parking lot so washing would be a waste of time as that white dust gets...

Do I have this pin in the right location steering colum?

Did you pull the tilt spring out? I think that is the guide for the tilt spring. Item 32 in the pic.

Thanks ! Turns out that the way I had them plugged in last night worked as I had TCC on the way in to work. Yay ! :big_banana_Dance:

    TCC Switch Wiring TH350C

Can anyone tell me if the 2 green wires go in the front and the blue with black stripe goes in the back of the TCC vacuum switch plug? Discovered tonight these were loose - I suspect this is correct but do not know. Loose means like hanging out of the back of the connector... Pic taken from...

    Asymmetrical braking

FYI- Prop valve may have helped the issue but not completely solved it on Goldie. The test patch I use is a piece of rough concrete heading South on the 59 feeder street at West Airport going for the uturn lane that leads to the North 59 feeder and entrance ramp. It is almost always wet and...

Goldie has a spacer that makes her take 2 gaskets. My guess is that it is OE.

What have you done to your square lately??

After 6 years, decided to cheat, use the power of the internet, and set the damn clock on the CD player in the truck. I figured I would have discovered the trick before on my own , but nope. It's the little things... :Big Laugh:

    Asymmetrical braking

Sounds similar to Goldie where I assume the fronts (plural) are locking before the rears although I know the front DS is as I hear it with the window down. I suspect the prop valve and have her in the shop to have that done. Will advise on the outcome. Hopefully the Chinesium prop valve works...

Ignition cylinder and steering lock question

One of the 1st steps in disassembly after removing the steering wheel is removing the lock plate. The plate is necessary in the column, but the spring that activates the lock pin could be disconnected or removed to achieve your desired results. You can see the pin around 11 o'clock in the...

What have you done to your square lately??

Decided tonight was a good night to clean and adjust rear brakes . 2 Russian Apples added to the decision making process. "Its 7:30 and it's dark fock it. Meh - do it now. " So, I dood it now .:anitoof: No pics, but the rusted drums are cleaning up nicely.

    Steering Column Interchange

88 - 91 R & V would work, but the next gen column ( now known as the OBS, or Old Body Style ) would not to the best of my knowledge due to the toe pan mount and other mounting points. Depending on if they are still the Saginaw style columns - really not sure on that - you might be able to put...
