Your opinion on seldom driven GMC V20

I am not a TBI expert but would assume so long as you reuse any sensors you have currently and do not use any extras you may find on the replacement motor it would just be a drop in. Which is why I would also say stick with the TBI - you have it, and it will make the task a bit simpler. Any...

    Brake pedal goes to floor

The way that I know to test a brake booster is to pump the brakes with the engine off, then while holding the brakes, start it up. The pedal should fall some small distance and then hold there. If it does, the booster is in theory good, and in that example, the MC, too. If your booster was...

    Brake pedal goes to floor

Bleeding is a good idea, but my instant thought was bad master cylinder.

TBI 350 bracket below A/C compressor empty?

Probably for an air pump your rig is not equipped with. I guess whatever will fit there is what you could mount. Also wonder what Psi a factory air pump would supply ...

Chevy tbi 350 to edelbrock adapter??

Is the old 2nd (3rd ?) motor bad, or is this just too good a deal to pass up ? I am a cheap SOB and will be paying for my motor work, and just bought that dam TVS switch and got the EFE working correctly so I want some return on my 60 investment. 30 buck switch, 30 buck cool tool. :anitoof:

Any problems getting to the nuts tucked conveniently behind the booster?

    Neutral Safety Switch

That tab fits into a slot on the shift tube - your old one did not break off and the piece is still in there, is it ? I'd that's OK, compare the new to the old. Same dimensions? In other words, is your new one the correct part ? If none of those are it, try installing it with the column in...

What have you done to your square lately??

Put the dash back together as I had to do more instrument cluster bulb work. New parts on order, so if this does not hold backup is on the way! On my phone, so not sure how to put text between photos. So : The carton pic is my dash screw memory aid. :anitoof: Then the amazing radio mount -...

Has anyone superglued the copper contacts down on the circuit board ?

Might be worth it. One of my prior failures- well, in all fairness I was screwed before I started with that trace being gone. I did not know - this was before I pulled the cluster. Better explanation- I cut pieces of the trace out of the old board, folded them over, and glued them to the...

Has anyone superglued the copper contacts down on the circuit board ?

@Ellie Niner - great info - thanks ! My fiber optic holder is not hard wired - I was wrong. And as best I can tell my fuse panel is all one piece with one flasher top left and one bottom right. And, the lower one has a plug with what I assume to be an aux terminal. Don't know if you can see...

Has anyone superglued the copper contacts down on the circuit board ?

Hah ha - the 3rd path ! Dunno if it will hold, but good parts are on order. Bought a soldering iron kit that had solder as I could not find a iron at Wally World and Northern Tools had irons but no loose solder. Dam worldwide shortages... :321: At any rate, here's what I did. No, I don't...

Has anyone superglued the copper contacts down on the circuit board ?

I will have to look for that radio bulb , if they did not just cut the wires. It seems like there is an orange wire loose under that area. I meant to tell you that even when all the bulbs are going full my 55 has that dim spot, too.

Has anyone superglued the copper contacts down on the circuit board ?

Just thinking more on your bypass idea - maybe using something like this and wires soldered to a bulb holder. Any ideas as to where I could tap in ? The fiber optic to the ashtray uses a hard wired bulb holder, and another thought would be the wiper switch wires. But, if there is...

Has anyone superglued the copper contacts down on the circuit board ?

A few gaps in their offerings. You are just as hosed if you have a 78 or 79 w/o tach. If I got the tach housing, I would have to get the tach, too. Then there is the question of will it work. One guy here got lucky & it was plug & play on a 79 , but ... You see my luck. :anitoof:

Has anyone superglued the copper contacts down on the circuit board ?

Yeah, you play from the underside enough and I guess they will do it ... A wired connector is not a ad idea - just have to get one. I had all sorts of engineering "ideas" - but, sine the trace on the OE in their now is gone those idea bit the dust. I guess solder wires to what I have and...

Has anyone superglued the copper contacts down on the circuit board ?

The housing is all right except this spot is one where the bulb holder fits loose in. It also appears that the 80 housing cluster W/O tach is not offered by LMC, so unless I want to spend more dough for an upgrade to a tach and then hope I dont have to repin the connector I gotta dance with...

Has anyone superglued the copper contacts down on the circuit board ?

Well, my opinion now is dont do it. I can't say for sure since I reused the OE one that needed some TLC, but I can say that after a week of flicker, die, come back, and die for good I gave up and pulled the bulb holder loose from the bottom. Well, maybe that did it, who knows, as I could...

Has anyone superglued the copper contacts down on the circuit board ?

Glue on the bulb holders, or the circuit board ? My external silicone job is already acting up on the LH speedo bulb which has been the problem child all along. I may tear back into it :bawl: and try some silicone on the bulb holder to the cluster housing, or even day dreamed about attempting...

    Steering Column teardown

Not sure what you mean by top half - where the turn signal switch screws into ? If that's it, there are 3 torx screws that hold it to the mast jacket. Take the turn signal switch out again- you will see them. If you are talking about the little plastic cap behind where the wiper switch is...

What have you done to your square lately??

I don't think the LMC one is quite as rugged as the OE, but that is just based on the visual. Functionally it was 100 percent correct. And, flat when brand new so you have to shape it for the electrical connector spot and the turn signals. I did not silicone the board down - probably help...

What have you done to your square lately??

I guess the positive to the bulb sockets with wires is in theory the problem I had could not occur. Unfortunately Mopar wiring in trucks was never that great in the 70s in my experience. Vans = no problem even with the same fuse box in the glove box set up. I don't get it. Helluva lot...
