What have you done to your square lately??

This wasn't on my square but rather the Expedition my wife's father gave her for her B-Day. In the process of giving it a good going over after replacing the alternator, I am also putting new hoses, belt, oil & filter change and so on and found this when I pulled the air cleaner!!! I think it...

89 firebird to buy or not to buy

If I were thinking about purchasing a car, which I'm not particularly fond of to begin with it would probably be a early "Thunder Chicken" or C3 Vette! If that one sits for sale for awhile you could probably get it for much cheaper than 3,000. The guy is trollin'! JMO :smoke2:

    Which welder?

I would check the rollers. Occasionally over time, especially after much use the grooves in the rollers can slightly enlarge due to wear thereby not maintaining constant and consistent pressure on the wire to pull it through and causing it to slip intermittently. Just a thought....:smoke2:

    Which welder?

The Miller with Auto set is a good little machine when used properly. I have found that most people expect to just turn a machine on and it will automatically make them a look like they know what they are doing! False!!! The wire birdcaging is generally due to dirty rollers or tension set too...

Little help from the Holley guys please.

Damn, prices on rods sure have shot up. I haven't kept up with the industry lately!:happy160: Yeah there was but sometimes you just have to settle with what comes along until the good stuff shows up. Hoping that Texas will soon join the Cannabis Train like so many others. Could possibly happen...

Looks like an excellent start on a successful rebuild!! Only thing I can suggest further depending upon one's individual taste might be some bud.....:smoke2:

    BC’s boat/dumpster fire thread

I once would up with a "free" boat, an 18' HydraTrail. My neighbor was cleaning up his adjoining property and ask if I wanted the boat. I didn't want the boat but wanted the trailer so he said he would let me pull the boat off and sell me the trailer for $50.00 but if I took the boat with it it...

Little help from the Holley guys please.

As stated earlier, Holleys are pretty simple and easy to rebuild. Main thing is cleaning all the parts up good and making sure all passages are clear. And as far as tuning, all the constellations in the galaxy don't have to be in perfect alignment with the third moon of Aquarius as required by...

Little help from the Holley guys please.

It does have the reputation of being a reliable carb, been in production for a long time. If you plan on using it I would suggest at least a rebuild kit and a good soaking and cleaning with Chem-Dip then blowing out all the passages to make sure they are clear of any blockages since it appears...

On the tall side of the air horn where it says List ( I can barely make it out in the pic) then a # follows that, that will tell you what it is by referencing the holley website.:smoke2:

What new tools have you got lately?

That sounds totally unsafe. I have a chainsaw for when I need a chainsaw!:smoke2: The cost of a chainsaw has to be far less than a visit to the E.R. !

What have you done to your square lately??

My wife has learned over the years that although my methods at times may seem very unorthodox the end result is usually spot on. Even her knowing that tho doesn't stop the occasional questioning look and shaking of the head! :smoke2:

    How do you burp?

I generally just chug a can of cold A&W Root Beer soda, that never fails me, although a burp is just another name for a wasted fart!!!:smoke2:

Yep, nothing can give you the warm fuzzies like running a tank out of gas and just leaning over, flip a switch, and catching an extra 20 gallons!!!:happy160:

    Engine Test Stand

@oldretiredafguy Attached are some photos of the engine test stand which I built over a decade ago specifically for my Big Block build. Am currently preparing to build another test stand for Small Blocks. Am posting these up so Mike can see them since it's not possible to add photos in a PM. If...
