Switching from dual to single tank... How do I fix the wiring?

Any idea what the harness that crosses over behind the cab from the sending units does? I think its a 2 wire harness. Mine has a broken wire and my passenger tank doesn't work.

Rainwater in passenger floor, with a pic...UPDATED DRIVER SIDE PIC

Thanks, I didn't notice the tabs. I'll make sure the door is for a truck with AC.

Rainwater in passenger floor, with a pic...UPDATED DRIVER SIDE PIC

Follow up: Hats off to bucket and WFO for part. Sealing the backside did stop 99% of passenger side rainwater. I think replacing the damper door will stop the rest. On the driver side I scraped out all the cracked seam seal, sanded down clean. No rust, just a hairline crack. Primed...

I decided to dig into the leak on the driver side. Water is oozing in through the floor pan and kickpanel seal. Can I clean out the factory seam seal and reseal with new seam seal?

Yeah, he is probably right but sure doesn't look like it will seal the damper opening when you see it and see how the water enters the damper opening. I'm replacing the gasket and the damper door. If that doesn't work I'm going to replace the hood hinge seals.

Rainwater in passenger floor, with a pic...UPDATED DRIVER SIDE PIC

I thought I would post more pics in case it helps someone find a kickpanel rainwater leak. I removed the kick panel I don't think replacing the gasket on the back of the kickpanel will stop the water from entering the open oval at the base of the damper (see first pic). The new gasket will...

Rainwater in passenger floor, with a pic...UPDATED DRIVER SIDE PIC

Ahh, I think I understand now. I have water coming in the driver side too but haven't removed the kickpanel to investigate. Pretty sure there is no AC damper on the driver side.

But the damper opens when AC is set to Max to let water in. How will resealing the damper backside stop it.

Bringing the Cat back...enough is enough.

I just added a Cat back to my truck with a new muffler and new pipe. The cat is located just past the Y and I think there is some type of heat shield at the location. A local shop put 2 1/2" pipe from the Y back. Here is a diagram of stock. Click on pic

Rainwater in passenger floor, with a pic...UPDATED DRIVER SIDE PIC

I'm getting rainwater through the AC damper on the passenger side kick panel. I triple checked it is not coolant. I removed the cowl and screen to check for rust, clogged drains or broken seal with the firewall. All good. Very little dirt and no rust, almost pristine. I put a water hose in...

    Headlight Gremlins.......

Thanks all, especially Bedwards. I cleaned all the grounds and it seems to be working ok. Also discovered the plastic protective housing on the passenger low beam wires was broken. The brown wire and green wire would slightly push out of the clip when I tried connecting the wires to the bulb.

    Headlight Gremlins.......

I have 87 R10 with 4 headlight set up. Running lights/turn signals in the grille and running lights/turn signal on the outter front panels. The 2 upper lights are the dim and the 2 lower lights are high beams. All 4 are on when high beams are selected but only the top 2 when dim is selected...

Look at this pic......what is it and what is my truck missing.......

Am I missing a fuel pump relay? Wondering if it has anything to do with my passenger side tank not working.

Look at this pic......what is it and what is my truck missing.......

I'm still learning about these old trucks.....It looks like mine is missing some sort of relay on the left bracket near the passenger firewall. Also what should the red wire hanging loose be connected to? 1987 R10 5.7l TBI Thanks all.

Should I add CAT converter back to my 87

The exhaust terminates behind the driver rear wheel. I don't hear any obvious tick tick leaks near the manifold. There could be one at the rear muffler weld. It has new plugs, wires, distributor cap, thermostat. Starts and runs smooth. Just stinks to high heaven. I get a little blue smoke...

Should I add CAT converter back to my 87

The previous owner cut out the CAT converter on my 87 R10 5.7. The truck is almost 100% original with 105k miles. I get a really strong smell of fumes from the exhaust and a little in the cab when sitting still. Would adding the CAT back fix the fume smell? Are there any sensors, ect. that...

    Dome light

I had the exact same problem, dome light, cig lighter, cargo light, horn, radio all on one fuse continues to blow. I removed the bulbs from dome and cargo light, unpluggled the back of cig lighter, turned the radio off, closed both doors to stop power to all. I added a new fuse, and one by one...

Dome lamp ground short circuit questions.

I had an issue with my 87 blowing fuse on this same circuit. The dome, courtesy, cargo lamps are on the same circuit with the horn, radio, and cigeratte lighter. I did what poppy87 suggested but in reverse. Unplugged everything, put in a good fuse, plugged each one in at at time until the...

Dual tank switch kills the engine

Update. Let me start by saying I barely know how to use a multimeter, but I thought I would poke around the wiring on the dual tanks and see what I could find. I started with the bad passenger tank. I found a wiring harness that goes from one tank to another following the frame crossmember...
