    Transfer Case Brace

Page 7D-10 of the 78 service manual. I have a few manuals downloaded that I look through regularly so I only had to look thru a couple before I found it.

Little late to the party but here's the diagram. Lol.

    Deleting emissions,read this article.

Biannual test exempt. Not smog exempt. That's the difference. There are still limits in place and they can pull you off the road to verify smog equipment is still in place on any vehicle since it is federal. Even though I had a CARB official openly admit that old cars add an insignificant...

    Deleting emissions,read this article.

And the EPA does actually do random on road sniffer tests. Had a club member 20 odd years ago get pulled over in nowhere San Diego county in his 72 blazer. Was handed a fist full of violations and spent the next 30 days collecting parts to put all the smog stuff back on so they wouldn't impound...

    Bilstein Shocks Bushing/Sleeve Question

Might want to check with the ORD guys but usually single fronts go in the other front shock position. That would make the angles better on the bushings.

    Axle swap help

Same as a brake job just six more nuts to get the spindle off. Besides you'd want to go through any donor axle anyway.

    Axle swap help

You'd have to swap everything from the spindles out. 74 used the first design small bearing and 84 used the post 75 second design. Stub shafts should be the same but inner axel shafts are different if I recall between an D44 and 10bolt.

    Axle swap help

And you'll want to use your existing calipers as 74 should have 7/16 banjo bolts and 84 should be 10mm.

Broken hearted kid and fuel system

Only other thing I can think of that hasn't been mentioned is if the return and supply hoses got switched accidentally it couldn't pull from the tank. Might want to retrace the routing.

2004 Silverado 2500HD 4x4 rattle noise from behind dash on driver's side.

I have a 2005 2500. And occasionally have that jiggle, clunky sound. Never been able to find what does it. All the research I did on the interwebs pointed me at nothing. Some guys spent weeks insulating things, tightening things, padding things. All for not. I guess it's like the rear exhaust...

What’s this and where does it go

I could be wrong, but from the location on pass side Id say air conditioning pressure switch. Did it ever, or does it now, have a/c?

    Is this a correct bracket?

Yes, illustrations are from the 1978 service manual posted in the reference section of the forum. The can on your old pump looks right. New one looks wrong. Your bracket looks to be from the 80s when they changed to the A4(??) A/c compressor. The brackets shown in the 1978 illustrations are...

    Is this a correct bracket?

it looks like your return port on the Pump is correct for 78 but that looks like a later year bracket.

    Pulling Sucks--2001 Suburban 3/4 ton--6.0

I agree with most of the suggestions here regarding tune up parts. When I first got my 05 2500hd, thing ran like a scalded dog. After several years started to loose a step. Did plugs and wires and got way better. Never threw codes. On a trans America drive lost the map sensor. Ok. Replaced that...

    No spark need help

I can't help but notice the orientation of the new distributor is different from the old. Are you certain the rotor is pointing at the correct cap terminal and it's not out of time? Did you bring #1 to tdc on and install how'd that all go down? It might be firing but not at the right time to...

    truck runs hot

I'd put it in the intake manifold if you have an empty (plugged) hole. In the thermostat housing it will only register true once the thermostat opens. If the thermostat fails to open you might not know it immediately. As an option you can drill a couple 1/8" holes in the thermostat to let...

Feels like front suspension 'bottoms out' over speed bumps.

And those shocks are probably maxed out on length. Front blocks are a bozo-no-no, And are probably half the problem with your steering

Battery negative ground question..... again, sorry !
