Audio cuts in and out at idle

Thanks snoots. Checked it out and with the ign on I'm getting 12.03 with it started and normal idle 14.11 Also verified that the Audio is still cutting in and out at idle. Would this confirm the problem is with the head unit itself?

    What cover is this?

In a clutch it could be made to work. The one on my 700r4 is like that cast piece you have. The one I used to have with my th400 was a stamped steel type and mounted the way your trans shows. I'm guessing (I've never had a th350) that you should have the stamped steel type. Edit: kind of like...

Audio cuts in and out at idle

Hey everyone, Here is a strange one that just started happening. At idle my 2 4.5" and 2 6x9" speakers have started cutting in and out very quickly. The sub keeps working like it should. and the kenwood headunit keeps powered up. I'd say above 1200 RPM the audio clears up. And if I just turn...

Help! I can’t stop my coolant leak.

I've started only using the more expensive o-ring thermostat housings. No gasket to mess with and no RTV needed, but does need the intake surface to be pretty flawless in order to seal correctly.

Oil pressure but no oil up top

Prime it then turn the engine over by hand some and prime some more. Keep doing that for at least a full rotation.

    Help picking spark plugs.

I'd be happy to move up to a bigger carb except for then I would be starting over with tuning. Plus spending the cash for a nice new bigger air and gas mixer. My ole man says these plugs look good. He's an old shade tree mechanic and has taught me alot however, alot of times we don't see eye to...

    Help picking spark plugs.

Both 1405 and 1406 are 600 cfms but the 1405 is their "performance" jetted with a manual choke while the 1406 is their more fuel conservative jetting and an electric choke. I opted for the 1405 thinking it would perform better with the mild build and added the electric choke to it. Probably...

    Help picking spark plugs.

I was also thinking lean but I admittedly dont know enough to say 100% positively. I do like the idea of going to a street avenger, have also been eyeballing those quick fuel carbs pretty hard. I'll start by trying to fatten this thing up and see what that does for it. The pressure regulator is...

    Help picking spark plugs.

Update on this. Still have 600 miles until oil change time but I went ahead and checked the spark plugs anyway. Here is number 2, 4 and 6. All of the others looked the same. I'm not sure about the white soot look so I'm thinking I need more miles on them before making a decision. The new plugs...

    Help picking spark plugs.

I was also wondering about resistor vs non-resistor spark plugs. My new ones are non-resistor types. I really have no idea if there is a benefit between the two. I also had no idea that spark plug reach was a thing until last night :Stupid Me: there is probably alot more to spark plugs then...

    Help picking spark plugs.

Delcos are always a good choice but they were pretty proud of them. I guess NGKs are normal for me from running them in my dirtbikes and quads. Never had any problem with NGKs. That being said, I've also never had a problem with any spark plug. So far it's been running fine. I'll be pulling and...

    Help picking spark plugs.

You are dead on Mike. The heads do call for a gasketed plug. Which the ones I had in them were not, they also were not the correct reach so I'm thinking getting the correct plug should help everything run quite a bit better. Not that it's been running poorly just not 100% perfect. I'll start...

    Help picking spark plugs.

A very stupid question and one I don't ask easily but heres the deal. I have a set of aluminum pro comp heads on my 350. They recommend a longer reach. Their website recommends: ngk r5671a-7 Autolite ar3924 Champion rc12yc Normally, I'd run a ngk yr5gp or ur4gp. I had ngk ur45 (just what the...

    Attention all Subaru Gurus..

I'm no subaru expert but that's a 3rd gen which went from 99-04. I would guess there were some minor changes in that span of time. For a true bolt in I would try and stay in 2002-2004 just to be safe. Edit: a pick a part or so might be able to help more as most have some kind of...

    Removing Wiper Arms???

I found out that LMC sells a special tool that helps pull them. I've always just used a flat head screw driver to pry at the release.

    Need exhaust ideas

This is the first truck I've personally had that has anything but fully separated duals. The P.O. had this installed and I'm personally a fan. After the digging I've done on them its said the H pipe gives more Tq while the X pipe favors HP. There is quite a bit of debate of it, location of the...

    Need exhaust ideas

When I had my same setup but with the manifolds instead of the headers I had more sound in the cab and maybe a bit deeper overall. I also think the H pipe quiets down the overall sound at idle but gives a nice rumble. They really come alive when you apply some skinny pedal.

    Bellhousing Top Bolts

Best way I've found is by pulling the dizzy and carb then using a wrench (ratcheting type preferred) from the top. Edit: should have mentioned only use the ratcheting type after breaking them loose.

Talk me out of cutting my dash

Mine is cut (came that way) if I had a uncut dash I would spend the money and get one of these. Have the best of both worlds, uncut stock-ish dash with a better head unit that offers bluetooth, sub, and better speaker connections...

    Need exhaust ideas

Here is what the Thrush duals with an H pipe and the long tubes sound like at idle. Don't mind the gear noise I got that fixed up. Cruising they are pretty quiet and get louder under load. I am also pretty interested in these aerochambers. My next set of pipes will be going under the tanks...

    Need exhaust ideas

The Thrush mufflers that are on my truck sound pretty decent. Get compliments all the time on it. Can't say about price as they were on it when I bought it. Exhaust pricing is just like everything else anymore and super dependent on location $330 in my area is pretty decent. I ended up paying...

Any K series Longbed with nv4500 swap?

64" does seem a bit long I think some of the newer 4 door trucks use that length but just like you said the large aluminum ones. I wonder if the 4x4 crew cabs use a two piece? The aluminum might be the way to go, even though I'm sure they come with a large price tag.

Any K series Longbed with nv4500 swap?

CSFJ hit on it. There would be an adapter from the back of the trans to the t -case the length of the adapter idk. The 208 would also require having the input shaft changed to one that matches with the nv4500s output shaft. I'm not 100% myself on the length comparison but from all of the...

Any K series Longbed with nv4500 swap?

I believe this heavily depends on the trans you replaced and the transfer case your using. When I do the swap in my truck 700r4 and np208 I'd be keeping the 208 which would not need relocated therefore could use the factory driveline. Iirc two piece and one piece drive line is all based on...
