    EPM Machine, Portland, OR

I tried having that NAPA do my mild 350. They pretty much acted like I was wasting their time. Could have been a one time thing or a pissed off employee or whatever but I didn't feel the need to force them into doing any work for me. Probably a different story if you have a bbc or something less...

    EPM Machine, Portland, OR

I used a very good machine shop down south of Portland in Stayton Or. Bit of a drive for you guys, but guy knows his stuff and has great prices, because he runs a full service machine shop out of his own garage. Really the only shop I was able to find local to me that didn't just say "go buy a...

    383 Stroker or 6.0 LS??

Probably their answer to Ferds new 7.3l gas engine. That'll be interesting to keep an eye on for sure. Good looking out!

    383 Stroker or 6.0 LS??

@eskimomann209 I'm right there with you. And everyone makes very good points. The one i know of and really what got me interested in the 8.1l was a guy screen named Dirtylarry over on the 67-72 forum. While most other things on that site are hit or miss at best. His build up was very thorough...

    383 Stroker or 6.0 LS??

I know that it's not a super popular option, and there is not much for aftermarket power makers for them. But an 8.1l in stock form has that newer reliability and has torque compared to the 6.0l and 5.3. Plus its an easier swap going from old school sbc or BBC to the 8.1 then the LSs. Some...

Best all terrain tire for your square

@AuroraGirl those look great. I've read they are pretty aggressive (deep tread) for an A/T tire while still having good road manors as well as 60k mile wattanties. Will definitely be my next set.

What have you done to your square lately??

It was stamped Taiwan. I have had this one in two different trucks and the same engine and its probably 8-10+ years old so that might have something to do with it. Was definitely a new problem for me.

What have you done to your square lately??

Replaced my oil pressure sending unit as it decided to blow out during a drive to the coast and leak alot of oil EVERYWHERE. First one I've had that actually blew out instead of just the threads leaking.

ORD Sway Bar Quick Disconnect Installed.

Looks great! I ended up flipping the L "hold bracket" upwards for a little more space when disconnected, but thats probably not needed for higher lifts.

    Front Shackle hanger bolt

1/2 inch longer then stock. (I corrected my post above) no where near those home made jobbers. I can measure after work, unless someone beats me to it.

    Front Shackle hanger bolt

One thing to keep in mind if going with the ORD shackles. They are longer then the OEM shackles by 1/2 inch or so. They are a great piece. I have them and really like that piece of mind and extra movement.

What have you done to your square lately??

Changed out my old broke headlight adjuster plastics. Added the clear turn signals and re aimed my low and high beams. I'm thinking they still might be a little low. The taped x is center of the bulbs measured out, and the truck is 25 feet back.

    Power Doors to Manual Doors

Oops sorry. I went back and looked again, I must have missed them only having front regulators but saw the motors listed as front and rear. Even checked LMC for burb rear door regulators, they sell everything except for the regulator itself but they do have parts to refresh old regulators. (I...

    Power Doors to Manual Doors

Rock auto has new regulators both power and manual for decent prices, I think even front or rear doors. I just ordered up a pair of new power ones for mine.

Adding a transmission temp gauge to 700r4

I added my sender into the test port on the drivers sode of the trans then ran wires to a regular ole water temp gauge which i put in the lower left gauge hole. Works well, isn't the most accurate I think the gauge reads 10 over what the trans actually is. Looks decently factory as well. I...

STP oil additive with Zinc - opinions, please ....

I'm not sure about the STP stuff. But I've been running this stuff on my rebuilt flat tapper 350. No problems at all and haven't noticed any flakes during oil changes. Lucas should know their stuff. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/luc-10687 My machinist told me that oil manufactures do not...

    Engine Stall and Transmission issue-85c10

This is correct. One to the can, one to the pump and one from the pump to the tank. Could be that someone put on a two port pump instead of the 3 port and plugged the return. Edit: I don't know if that would cause this symptom but it can't be very good for things.

Upper Radiator Hose has no pressure

Some are hit and miss anymore. Always a good way to check is the boil method. Something else to look at before that though. How are the hoses ran to the engine? And water pump? I tried switching one of mine once think it'd be a cleaner run but put an in to an out or something like that and it...

Upper Radiator Hose has no pressure

Did you happen to boil the new t-stat before install to make sure it opens? Also the system could need burped to get the air pockets and such out. Newer t-stats have a small hole in the flat portion to help air flow through it and not get trapped underneath the t-stat. Some drill a very small...

    Engine Stall and Transmission issue-85c10

I'm no expert but, I'm willing to bet those are seperate issues all together. The lunging sounds like it is converter lock up related as putting it in 3rd or removing the lock up wiring solves it. I'd start by adjusting the Lock up cable and make sure that's good. Don't want to burn up a...

    How to Identify a 700r4

The plugs are for your TC lockup. Ie. The overdrive function of the transmission. Attached image is mainly for the OG post here. And future references.

    Changing from hyroboost

Why not just keep the hydroboost setup? Overall it is the better system to have and its not like it will interfere with the gasoline engine any. Not putting down, mainly just curious here.

New steering box and now this....

Crap happens sometimes but brakes and steering are definitely the most important components to get right. And leaving things loose as well as giving a poorly steering vehicle back to a customer are in my book very bad. Hopefully no one got hurt or anything got damaged during this and the shop...
