    Holley Issues Continue......

You do need to know pressure, but just as important is volume. That is why you do the volume test and put it in a container and measure volume. As for sight plugs - yes, that is what I am talking about. Is the fuel level to the bottom of the plug? Does it pour out when you remove the plug...

    Holley Issues Continue......

Before you throw more parts onto it, try a couple of tests. Check your fuel level through the sight plug. Also disconnect the fuel line and place it into a container. I forget the exact numbers, but check that it is putting out enough volume and pressure.

    Holley Issues Continue......

I might be odd man out on this, but have you checked ignition? You say it was having issues and backfiring before this. I am wondering if it is something in the distributor or coil or even a module. Just food for thought.

    Hydroboost help

Did you ever replace the master cylinder? That would be my first concern. Whether or not you have a working hydroboost, the brakes still should work. Reading into the post, it sounds like the master MAY have been the issue the first time (the fluid went somewhere and no leaks) but was never...

Is it bad to scrap parts versus selling?

I used to hold onto all sorts of parts. I had spares upon spares. I finally decided space was more important. You may want to try selling some of the stuff, with a drop off date. If it does not sell by then, put it up at a stupid low price. If it does not sell after a week, scrap it. What it...

Well, shit! I did not know it was a real product! Now I know the difference!

    Help Me Settle This!

Opinion - look for another truck. Neither of you will be happy with the outcome, and it is not worth arguing with your brother over a square body, when there are still a shitload out there. Unless there was something sentimental about it or it is super rare (sits not) then look for another truck.

NP205 fixed yoke to slip yoke

Can I suggest an NP241 or 2 (one for the wife’s Jeep). They come with a slip yoke and you can get a fixed yoke conversion for it too. It should bolt in place of an NP208 and is purported to be almost as strong as an NP205. They are a little harder to find, but may be the easiest swap in the end.

    Hydroboost crazy

I added a cooler from a later model truck in front of the radiator. I just recently added a filter set up to mine. It is a remote spin on filter. I feel this probably did as much, or more than a cooler. It added probably over a quart in volume along with lines going to and from the filter, along...

I think I just got screwed. Advice?

Agreed! Now, go put some miles on that truck and have fun with it! What better way to thank the parents! Good looking truck by the way.

    4" or 6" lift for 3/4 ton??

I am running the metric equivalent of 35’s on 16 inch wheels - I forget all the numbers. I have a 4 inch lift. There is a little scraping of the metal. I went down from a 6 inch lift. The older I get, the less I want to climb into a truck!

    79 K-10 parts on my 73

The springs should be interchangeable. Looking at the pics of the front, they do not look too bad - they are rust, but do not appear to be sagging much, if and, judging by distance to the stop.

    detroit locker install-14 bolt FF

Only other info I could add is to mark the bearing caps (side to side and up) and the diff case halves. It is a really easy job!

I think I just got screwed. Advice?

Let me start with I do not INTEND to sound like a dick... Your parents decided to surprise you (very nice of them). They took your truck to someone they trust and has helped your family out (sounds like he would stand by his work). They got a quote from the mechanic which they agreed on. The...

    Body lift swap

What do you want out of the truck? Are you bringing it back to stock height, or leaving the suspension lift on? I ask because with stock height and springs, you will LIKELY have the best ride, unless you are investing in for your soft aftermarket lift springs. So with that, if you are looking...

How to pick the right jack+stands

I think I got mine years ago from Napa. I am definitely cheap (and am rather proud of it), BUT I actually do not cheap out on jacks and stands. I figure I am depending on these while laying under a car or truck, so I buy quality on these. I would recommend the same for anyone.

Wilwood d52 calipers on k30 dually

I would stick with the 1 ton stuff as well. Try new rotors and rotate your tires. I spent a lot of time checking into brake upgrades, and anything I found requires custom machining and such. For a while I was using dual piston C3500hd calipers, but I did not like the pedal travel (using...

How to pick the right jack+stands

You are going to be under the truck. What do you feel comfortable with? For home use, I have a set of 6 ton stands for the truck and smaller 3 ton for the cars. At work, I have a 10 ton jack and stands. They can be a pain in the ass to move off site, but I want to be prepared and not just hope...

Driveline Vibration. U-Joints, Carrier Bearing, and Output shaft Bushing Replaced.

Might have missed it, but have you rotated tires to see if the vibration moves?

What have you done to your square lately??

Dropped the transfer case to put in the shift rail to use with a light (NP205) and found out it already had one. Got it back together, fixed some wiring and now have a working 4wd indicator and choke light. Trying to build up my motivation to weld up some holes in the floor and put in new...

    Oil light switch leak?

Easiest to take out the distributor. It could be from the light switch, the T itself, or the sender. No real way to tell until you get in there, but might as well have all three pieces on hand and return the ones you do not need. As for the leak, the senders can crack, or degrade over time...

    Quad Shocks?

I added quad shocks when I took off my front sway bar, hoping it would help with any body roll. I did not notice much difference with them. I took them off when I put the front sway bar back on. It actually rode better without them. But that reminds me, it is about time I take the brackets...

    need a new radiator

I have Champion Radiators in 2 of my cars and they are great! Customer service was good, and my cars run a lot cooler. When the time comes, I will likely put one in my truck, although the idea of being able to run to O’Reilly to get a replacement is tempting if there is a warranty problem.

    Front drive shaft is hitting

Just throwing it out there - is there a clocking ring on that case? The front looks like it’s hanging a little low.

    Flame Arrestor delete

Got rid of mine years ago, and it really seemed to wake up the engine. I had forgotten about that until now.
