    Because USA1 Industries is a criminal enterprise that takes your money up front, tells you it'll be 16 weeks, and a year and a half later you're still waiting. While LMC is a reasonably well-run operation that ships when they say they will.

    USA1 has the best door panels by far. Unfortunately, they are a horribly run operation and as mentioned you will wait at least a year and a half to receive them (if you're lucky).

    I think some people are getting confused with aluminum conducting electricity (yes, does so very well) with magnetism (nope not at all). Maybe because the whole positive/negative thing for both, I don't know.

    700R4 Information Thread

    @NickTransmissions Question for you. I have a 700R4 that is out of a 1989 Corvette. It is stock. What kind of HP/torque do you think it can safely handle? It looks like vettes that year were rated at 245HP and 340 lb/ft. The motor I have in front of mine is at about 360HP and 400lb/ft.

    Question on battery/starter

    That is for sure. I bought a new Diehard battery at Advance Auto last night. Brought it home, and it was reading 10.5 volts. Left it on the charger all night. Then it read exactly 12. But I literally watched on the multimeter as the volts quickly dropped back to 11 after unplugging the charger...

    I went with the u-joint, eliminating the rag joint is the biggest part of this upgrade.

    I put one square of Kilmat in each door, you definitely don't need a lot to make the tin can noise stop. Strips would probably work well too.

    Do you have a set of vent windows that can be refurbished? I sent mine to Precision to be rebuilt, I'd say some of the best money I spent on my build. https://www.prp.com/vent-program Even if you can find a used set to buy and send in would be better than anything aftermarket, IMO.

    I changed my '81 from the dumbo mirrors to the sport mirrors. Yes, they are nearly useless, but they look cool so no regrets.
