    Changing gear ratios: opinions/suggestions wanted!!

Using a gear ratio calculator, my C10 tops out at 194mph, but I'm pretty sure that ain't happening.

I'll give that a try thanks!

    Check out my rear end

Yes they are good. Before I re-rebuilt the truck, I was using this transmission and this rear end with no issues. I think new clutches are in order. I did do the fluid change, additive, and lots of u-turns in a parking lot. Definitely helped a bit, but still an issue. The only reason I can be...

What have you done to your square lately??

Thanks! Yes I had it Rhinoed in early October. I debated about whether to paint or line it, I am very happy with the outcome.

    Check out my rear end

Just to be clear, this was a custom built rear. The factory one was an open diff 12 bolt.

    Check out my rear end

Well that is interesting, I always assumed it was a GM unit. I have no idea what brand it is. I had it built by a guy who had an ad in Hemmings Motor News in about 1993, good ol' pre internet days. I was 15 years old. Took 8 months for it to show up in a crate from Pennsylvania, I was convinced...

    Check out my rear end

What were you hoping for with that title you perverts? Ha, so I am having a vibration at around 67-72mph, and again way worse at about 85. It does it on the dyno so obviously it's drive line related. Wheels have been balanced, no change. The driveshaft was re-balanced with new u-joints when I...

What have you done to your square lately??

After 3 months on backorder, the Holley rubber bed mat finally arrived. This thing is beefy!

1985 Long Bed Floor and Bedsides

I can vouch for the fit and quality. As good as OEM believe it or not. They've come a long way. On my bed, the only OEM parts are the wheel tubs and tailgate.

Heavy vibration at highway speed under load

I'm currently battling the same type of thing. 1981 C10, with a new Chevy Performance crate 350, a 1990 Corvette 700R4, and a 12 bolt posi with about 30k miles on it, which sat for about 12 years. Re-balanced drive shaft, new u-joints. No shakes at all until you get to about 67 mph. Then it...

Testing the wiring and gauge for 3 wire sensor

This is probably a rudimentary question, but what is the proper way to test the wiring and gauge for a 3 wire pressure sensor? I have a Holley 0-100 psi sensor attached to my fuel pressure regulator. I am suddenly getting no reading from the sensor, but it is not because of a lack of fuel...

Daughters ‘87 needs to ride smooth.

My custom rear leaf pack has 8 leafs, when stock I had 4. All has to due with the spring rate, etc. In my case, twice as many springs equaled way softer ride based on that.

Daughters ‘87 needs to ride smooth.

I am running 31x10.5x15 Michelin LTX Defenders, I went from 40psi to 32 and I couldn't believe the difference in ride quality, as far as being less harsh.

What have you done to your square lately??

Sounds like it would be a sweet setup! I miss my '86 Camaro. This was back in '95 in high school. And I had my current truck with the TPI in it too. Those were good times. Camaro rotted away unfortunately.

Daughters ‘87 needs to ride smooth.

I can tell you this, with my 1981 C10 longbed, literally every part on the truck is brand new (true complete frame off build). I used Bilstein shocks, new coil springs, and had the rear leaf springs custom made to ride as good as possible, particularly with no weight in the bed since it will...

What have you done to your square lately??

Bought it new, and it's AWESOME, in my opinion. When I first frame-off built my truck in the early 90's in high school, I put a 350 TPI out of an IROC in it, with an Accel computer. That was kinda high tech at the time. The truck sat and rotted from around 2001 to 2012. Spent the last 12 years...

What have you done to your square lately??

Here's what I did to my square lately...I attempted to make a spirited 1/4 mile run in a fairly remote area. After stomping the go pedal, the truck suddenly went to idle only. Well, I ripped the Lokar throttle cable out of the ferrule on the throttle body of my First fuel injection intake...

    Bucket seat belt sleeves

I put Recaro bucket seats ans a Blazer console in my cab. I had my factory seatbelts redone, and I got plastic seat belt sleeves for the buckle sides, but they just flop on the floor between the seat and console when not used. Then I saw these on LMC and elsewhere: But I'm lost on how these...

    Dome light upgrade

I installed this LED light as my interior light, it is what is installed as an aftermarket light in police cars. It is also dual color so it can be red for night time. I also put LED bulbs for under the dash to match the white color. https://www.whelen.com/product/3-inch-round/

    Vintage air vs. stock dilemma???

Out of curiosity, what's the difference? It looks almost identical to the VA Surefit series.
