What have you done to your square lately??

Weather was nice so today I first put in my new temperature gauge. After that I decided to tackle the window regulators. I'm going to give anyone that wishes to replace them a tip. Take out your vent window first. I fought and cussed and fought some more with that blasted thing. I took out my...

    Door Pins

None of the videos that I saw showed them doing it one hinge at a time. They all showed the door being removed, which to be honest looks like a pain in the you know what. Thanks for the tip!

    Door Pins

My driver side door is sagging pretty bad, so I've gone ahead and ordered some replacement door pins. The videos that I've seen appear to be pretty straight forward, but have any of y'all replaced them yourselves? How big of a pain was it?

How a carbureted engine should start and run cold

I have the original quadrajet 4bbl on my '78 with a 350, and 1-2 pump max is all it ever needs to crank up no matter how long it has been sitting. Once cranked, it will then idle at ~1500-1600 rpm until it heats up, then the idle will drop to ~900- 1,000rpm.

What did you pay for a square

Bought my 1978 GMC C15 from a 93 year old Former Marine for $5,400 in July of this year. Zero, and I mean ZERO rust. 57,000+ original miles. You can tell it was definitely an old man truck. Spent a whole lot of its life sitting. Texas truck.

    Window regulator part

Most of the videos that I've seen on youtube were replacing the whole regulator.

Don't really know where to put this, but have any of y'all ever had to get a bonded title, and how big of a pain is it?

I actually had a title that I surendered when applying for one in my name, but the state is saying that "it might possibly not be the most current one." This is on top of them inccorectly entering information into the computer when I initially applied......in July.

Thanks to all that have replied. I actually had a title that I surendered when applying for one in my name, but the state is saying that "it might possibly not be the most current one." Window regulator part

I am going to replace the window regulators on both doors. I have ordered all of the parts from the picture from LMC except for #5 - "roller and rivet" because it is out of stock with no backorders. Is this something that will come with the new regulators , will I have to find them somewhere...

    Vent Windows

Having done mine, I wish that I had sent mine in. Would have turned out much better looking. I violated my own rule of "buy once, cry once." I'll probably ended up having mine re-done.

All new weather stripping and door rubber but leak quite a bit when I run a water hose over them.

It's like there isn't even any weather stripping or door/window rubber even there. What did I do wrong? I am scared to drive it in the rain.

    Oil leak

Recently repaired a valve cover leak, oil pan leak, and timing cover leak on my '78 with a 350.

What have you done to your square lately??

Took the day off yesterday so that the plumber could come. While waiting for him and his 9AM-1PM window, I went ahead and put a new water pump on. No leaks, no drips, no errors, and no more water pump pulley noise either. Hopefully, this will be that last big mechanical fix for a while. I still...

Is anyone having any luck buying a vehicle from Craigslist/Facebook Marketplace right now?

I have never had a successful transaction happen on FB Marketplace with anyone younger than 60. I did buy my 1978 GMC from a 93 year old former Marine, though.

What have you done to your square lately??

Spent way too many hours rebuilding my vent weindows this weekend, only to be less than pleased with the results. Definitely not a job that i would ever wish to repeat. Also replaced all of the door rubber. That was a much easier job with much better looking results. Got it all together, took it...

    LMC Headliner question

I put in a new "headliner" last week. An American flag held up by a half dozen magnets.

What have you done to your square lately??

Put in a new fuel pump and fuel gauge. It's nice knowing how much gas you have. Got started on (finally) rebuilding my vent windows but ran into 2 problems. First, I have somehow misplaced my vent window rebuild kit with all of the rivets. Had to end up ordering another one. Second, I had put...

Not completely new here, but I had a question and didn't really know where to put it. Did any of you attend WyoTech?

I did in 1994 at the original location in Laramie, WY. At the time, it was called Wyoming Technical Institute. I don't even know if it is open anymore. Regardless, I only did mechanic work for a few years, ended up going to a regular university, and now teach science to 10-11 year olds that say...
