Need ideas for a modern steering wheel.

I'm guessing you have the 4 spoke steering wheel? If so, while it is common, it's the optional (faux?) leather "sport" steering wheel. The standard type steering wheel was still the design with the solid horizontal bar through the center, I had a former USAF 91 crew cab with one.

    HHHEEEEELLLLLLLPPPPPPP!!!!!! Update- problem unsolved again.

I agree it sounds like it’s starving. Be sure to test drive it with either no air cleaner or your old proven unit to be sure there’s nothing weird there (like physical contact, etc).

'89 Crew Cab body to '90 Suburban frame?

They are extremely close but there is 2” difference. Even if the were the exactly same when you substitute the 3’ or so for the rear door the bed gets really short.

'89 Crew Cab body to '90 Suburban frame?

So are you planning to extend the Sub frame to fit? As is, if you put the 4 door cab on the Sub frame the pick bed would be maybe 4’ long? With length taken out of both ends to get the wheel opening right. Only the core support and front floorboard body mounts are the same. The Sub will not...

    Dana 70HD carrier

Dodge used the used the 70 through ’02 in V8 trucks, ‘03+ used AAM axles. I’ve never read anything that said it was the HD version.

    Dana 70HD carrier

I believe the Ram 70’s are still the “B” series, a 70HD has different carrier bearings and I think a slight offset difference.

    Steering box brace kits

There is a slight difference in the shape of the rear end of the vertical plate but outside of that I think they are mostly the same. I didn't know there were sub $50 kits available, I've verify the thickness is comparable on those. It's been forever but I think mine came from ORD and it, like...

Is this the original bed on my 85 Chevy k10

I can’t remember but there should be an arrow on your gauge indicating the filler side.

    Different lift kit questions?

Correct. If you go with 3" I'd consider a drop pitman arm or a 2" drop drag link (they make 2" or 4"), you really only want to have about 1" or so of downward rake to the drag link. If you go with 2" lift then I'd run all stock steering pieces.

    Different lift kit questions?

That pitman arm (on the gear box) is stock. That steering arm (on the axle) is for 4” so it’ll likely be too tall for anything less. A 2” drop pitman arm and a stock steering arm would work. The stocks are ok for 3” and possibly 2”, it just depends on if the new springs are true to...

Old v belts vs new v belts

I don’t see anything wildly unusual. New V belts are usually flat on the bottom of the taper, if you old belt was pointed on the bottom then I’d say it was excessively worn. Don’t worry about the taper bottoming out in the pulley. You want the belt to be close to flush with the top of the...

    87 R10 HD Radiator Upgrade

Are you using a factory type radiator or an aftermarket aluminum or something else? If you’re using a factory type radiator I’d suggest getting it in first and test fitting your shroud, it may work. You want the fan in the opening of the shroud but there’s a little fudge room there. The...

What new tools have you got lately?

Funny you say that, my issue started after I replaced the dimmer switch in the column. I think it coincided with that repair but I didn’t catch the problem until a couple of months later because the Blazer has been sitting in the shop for a year with a list of projects going simultaneously...

Need suggestions: What color interior for Midnight Blue Paint job?

For me, I like the blue interior - if it's good shape and not faded to baby blue. Black can look really good to but it needs to stay very clean since it'll show dirt easily. Fwiw, if your interior is nice blue can be a little valuable as it's getting hard to find nice pieces.

This serpentine belt isn't what should've been in my truck right?

If a belt is getting thrown there are a couple of easy checks - Was it too loose? Do all of the pullies for that belts route line up? Are any of the pullies / accessories loose allowing them to wobble or move around?

This serpentine belt isn't what should've been in my truck right?

That’s not a serpentine belt, that in a “V” belt. “V” belts are installed with the taper puzzling into the pulley “V” shaped grooves.

Either this part is unavailable, or I don’t know where to search.

As stated, it’s a reinforcement piece that is a part of the inner fender liner. It is not available separately.

    86 C10 454 . Help with fuel return line. Pic's inside.

Thanks. I never trusted the style that comes with the blue pumps after a local speed shop guy told me some racers used to run 2 back to back because 1 couldn’t always manage the pressure.
