Welcome to the forum from N. Texas!! Nice looking truck-Those single cab duallys have always had a "mean" looking stance. My best friend lived in New Market until he passed a couple of years ago. I was born in the Naval hospital in Portsmouth right after the war. The caverns area is just...

Welcome to the forum from N. Texas!! Nice looking truck to start with. First basic question is what do you want the truck to do? Daily driver or show truck to impress all the sweet young things? Mud or hunting truck? Toy for your use, or something to work on with your...

Welcome from N. Texas!! Friend that I buy hay from has a Cummins BT4 in his '77 round eye. Europeans have used small diesels for decades. Detroit and the oil companies killed the concept years ago--not enough profit in making something efficient and long lasting.

How do I use the tank selector on 1973 Camper Special

This is an old 50's-60's 18 wheeler fuel tank selector valve. Probably still get seals for it from a true big truck parts store. Might also try NAPA, they carry a ton of parts for older stuff.

    How about a NEW squarebody?

Oh s@#t, did I say that out loud? My bad.
  14. oldretiredafguy

    How about a NEW squarebody?

Wishful thinking, but GM would just screw that up as well. Probably put 25 computers in it, use a unitized body with no frame. install ugly plastic bumpers, and generally "improve" it enough to make most of us puke.

Welcome from N. Texas. Love those long beds, a real working truck. Your FiTech should have been an easy install, since all '87 trucks were original TBI equipped when new.

    Let’s talk about headliners

Just re-covered my headliner for the '91 Suburban 4x4. Used the old boards, as they were in good shape. Ordered my material from Stock Interiors, as it was the closest shade match to their replacement carpet. Took the old boards and new material to my interior shop in Denton, TX. They do great...

    1976 k20 gas tank swap

Make sure you get the replacement tanks built for 1987 and up trucks. They have baffles, and are set-up to handle the high pressure fuel pumps required for TBI/EFI. Also, the fuel tank selector switch is different for 81-86 carb trucks and 87 up TBI vehicles.
