Recommendations For Original/After Market Parts Companies

Getting ready to order a boatload of parts for the restoration of my '91 Suburban. After reading about Justin's (@OldBlueDually) problems with simple things like window rollers, please give your thought on which companies provide the most accurate original/reproduction parts. 1. LMC 2. Classic...

    GMC GRILLE FOR SALE!

It's sort of like a one off fine painting. They're not going to make anymore, finding a wrecking yard with an unmolested grille is just not in the cards. How much do you spend on just one wheel or tire, or that lift kit or the fancy name brand shocks? Small price to pay for a very hard to find...

Thanks. I appreciate the info. I've been buying old '83-'88 grilles to rob the letters off of. Planned to paint them with modelers red paint, but found out I'm not an artist. :boxed:

Howdy. Newbe here. Want to find out as much about my 1981 3+3 as possible.

Welcome from N. Texas~!~ Sure hope you have a garage/barn to store that beauty in. Unless the weather patterns have changed since I was there for the first Gulf war games, it will get sand blasted with the wind coming off the Gulf!

    The last pre-emmisions diesel

    Nice clean installation!

    The last pre-emmisions diesel

Correct. "Killer Dowel Pin" is just on 12v engines. 24v engines have the expensive engine block mounted lift pump. The Bosch VP-24 injection pump is cooled by fuel flow. When the lift pump weakens to less than 5 PSI, it craters the Vp-24. Very expensive to repair. Ask me how I know.

    New owner 87 R10

Welcome from N. Texas. Nice, clean looking '87. Suggestion for the fuel tank addition: Get into the parts books available from the Library section to see what parts go where. At least this will give you a visual presentation of the installation.

    What rim is this

Ayden, This is a photo of one of the HHR 16" wheels. Bolt pattern is 5x110mm (5x4.33"). I've got 4 of them and you're welcome to them.

    What rim is this

Looks to me to be one of the HHR rims. I have a couple at the ranch left over from our 2011 HHR, I'll snap a couple of photos of them. I'm reading the tire size of 235/65 R16. Is that correct? We should have done this before last weekend!

    Fuel sending units

Thanks. I'll try Spectra as the chosen brand. I need six, two for the '83 crew cab, 2 for the '86 C20, one for the '88 V-Jimmy, and one for the '91 V-1500 Suburban. Maybe one of the retail shops will give me a quantity discount for six!

    Fuel sending units

Thanks guys. I always worry about ordering something with as many sensitive parts as a fuel sending unit, and then trusting UPS/FED EX to not play tackle football with the package. I worked on a freight dock before joining the military, and saw what my fellow dock workers did to some lightweight...
