OEM Breather replacement
Somehow, sucking air in thru a 1-1/2" snorkle opening just doesn't seem fitting for the long tube headers w/ 2-1/2" dual exhaust . And if the factory snorkle was good, why can't I find a replacement in any where? I do appreciate the perspective though.- hey mister

I'm talking about the big round metal can with a lid and a long snorkel. It's usually painted black from the factory and houses a big round air filter which traps dirt from getting into carburator..- hey mister

Can the heater core be turned off?
I don't think that would be a good idea if coolant has to circulate before thermostat opens. If you look at your coolant circuit, some circuits use the heater core circuit to circulate some coolant thru pump, which keeps pump from cavitating. My 78 requires coolant to circulate, so I could...- hey mister

I installed that unit in mine. I did not use the cable. If the dew was heavy in the morning, I just pop the hood and flip the valve to get some defrost heat. Then flip it back at a stop later. Yes, That is how mine looks. The schematic states "fusable link" in the location of that block, so I assumed that was it. I may be assuming erronously. If that piece of metal with the 2 holes is not the fusable link...where is it?- hey mister

Well, pooh.. I had not realized there was a link there and because the original looked so...well...old and crusty, I made a copper bridge. 1/8" thick 1/2" wide. That would fuse an average house. I should probably take that back out and get a new one. Yea, good plan...- hey mister

Fusable link on firewall distribution block... Where do you find the fusable link that goes in the block? The original is part of the wire coming out of the loom from the alt/batt. It's like crimped on the wire. Where do ya find em? Or do ya just use a blade style fuse block?...which would not...- hey mister
