    Noob

The market does not drop on old vehicles, in fact if you look at early high production cars like the Mustangs and Camaros I think you could say there hits an inflection point where scarcity of good vehicles left on the road drives demand back up, especially as accidents and car crushers wipe out...

    Decent Paint Job

I got mine done at the local Maaco. It had 4.7 out of 5 stars and I went in and talked with everyone who would work on my truck. They all took a liking to it so I was comfortable. They took longer than expected but the job turned out great. I did not get any dents of dings repaired as I...

Newbie here but the truck is a 1978

The rust I was talking about that really stood out is that it looks like in the door jamb there is a 4x4 inch patch that looks completely eaten away... I can't venture a guess to how it impacts the metal surrounding it but in my Mustang I've put my foot through the floor in spots like that on...

Newbie here but the truck is a 1978

Welcome, but it sounds like only for the short term :) As it sits I would not offer but maybe $1500. Get it running reliably and maybe $3k. Looks to be a fair amount of rust visible so I'm assuming there is worse that I can't see in the pictures.

New here, just introducing myself and vehicle.

Welcome! That's a clean looking truck, sorry to hear about the loss in your family but glad the truck was able to stay with someone who will take care of it!

What have you done to your square lately??

That looks like it has been rode pretty hard in it's lifetime... I might have asked for $500 for not being able to at least wipe it down before selling it lol

    Newb to the forum

I hear ya on this - my truck had 81k miles on it after 33 years and I've put about 3-4k on it since last year alone lol. That being said I think I would rather use it and rebuild it when the time comes rather than let it sit. Oh, and welcome from Texas!

    Another noob introduction

Howdy! It's hard to tell you how great the truck looks without pictures!

    Protecting catalytic converters?

Put air bags on the truck where when deflated it is flat on the ground and contacts somehow on the front and the back of the exhaust system. If the current is broken (the cat is cut off for example) immediately release all air in the air bags. Two birds, one stone. **EDIT** Omg even funnier...

    Hood sale price?

Why get rid of it? If you are going to swap the hood out consider keeping the original parts. $200 won't get you much today and if you want to get rid of that cowl hood you don't have to buy and paint another one.

    All original my baby

I'm surprised the glue on the trim has not come off... Mine exterior was in decent shape vs others I have seen before I repainted it but trim was sagging in several places.

Should I make a daily from my "parts truck" 76 GMC....??

I think the options presented were - Should I scrap this truck by parting it out or make it in to a running vehicle, which is why I went with the latter... If you can sell it to make some coin and it's a good price sure why not but a running truck fetches a lot more than one that is stripped...

Should I make a daily from my "parts truck" 76 GMC....??

Whatever you can get for it now is nothing compared to what it'll be worth in another 10 years or so when there are less squares to be had... I say daily it and try to keep the rust at bay.
