Electric motor to swap for SBC

How does it compare in performance and utilization of energy? I think it's interesting but I wonder if this is a novel thing people could do or a viable option. Edit: Ah reading more it seems that this obviously does not include a battery so it's not like a drop in replacement.

What new tools have you got lately?

https://www.familyhandyman.com/list/these-20-old-tools-are-worth-big-bucks/ Just googled "100 year old planing tools" to see and saw that article. Might be a good start. Of course, they would only be what someone is willing to pay for them.

    Locating odd sized bolts

Well after reading all the replies here and not finding a great way to get a smaller bolt from a 4" bolt I've done some research and other sites said to cut a bolt so I'm going to try that instead of all the crazy ideas in this thread.

    Locating odd sized bolts

I see online people sawing to saw it off but I can't imagine that is great for the integrity of the bolt.

    Locating odd sized bolts

Possibly, I'll check. It is for '66 mustang water pump so hard to imagine they still use an odd size like that but it's worth a shot

    Locating odd sized bolts

Hey guys - I'm working on another car at the moment that I need a 3 and 11/16" hex head 18NC bolt for. 3 1/2 and 4 aren't working. I've checked McMaster Carr, Fastenal, all the local hardware stores, but so far no dice. Any ideas on locating odd bolt sizes like this? I would love to pick...

    No sound to speakers debugging

Any good radio debugging threads? I can hear the speakers do something when I turn the radio on but either no signal in or something is wrong with the speakers. Trying to figure out if the speakers are good before pulling the gauge bezel again since it's so flimsy already

    Missing Spare Tire Hardware?

    Missing Spare Tire Hardware?

Great point here it is It is a 2wd long bed and the top of the picture is the very back of the truck I'm pretty sure, for reference.

    Missing Spare Tire Hardware?

I just got my spare fixed. When I bought the truck it was just in the bed. Where I presume the spare tire goes (underside in back of bed I see what looks like a tire mount) but I don't see anything to hold it in place, nothing to thread into / onto and nothing that would cap the tire. Does it...

1986 C10- Is it reliable enough for a daily driver?

Yeah no kidding. I would talk this guy waaaay tf down from $14k. That is way too much for a spray can paint job truck with a crate motor. https://www.hagerty.com/apps/valuationtools/1986-Chevrolet-C10-1!2_Ton?id=165237 Hagerty's lists an '86 C10 as being worth ~$12k if it fits this...

What have you done to your square lately??

Not necessarily for the square just yet but made some cribbing blocks this weekend so I can jack my mustang up to the sky when it's time to put in the new transmission and everything. Put em in the office for now so I can mock up everything inside away from the 246 degree heat we call a texas...

Coverking is the brand https://www.amazon.com/Coverking-Custom-Select-Chevrolet-Models/dp/B000ZAP1YK You can enter your truck to make sure it is the right fit. Also can choose different colors if you want. They say it's custom made but I got mine pretty fast

What have you done to your square lately??

Put on the Coverking seat cover today that came in the mail. Took about 20 minutes but the fit is very snug, would definitely recommend this product if you have a seat in halfway decent shape. Cushion on the bottom is a nice touch as well I was not expecting. As a note, under those sticky...
