I reckon I’m a Jeep guy now  Got her pretty cheap. Will tinker on her a bit, have fun with it over the summer and then probably pass her on to the next guy by end of summer.

Anyone have a LS swapped 3+3?

Absolutely agree!!! LOVE my 91 cclb drw!! She's a keeper and I'm doing the same as far as making it exactly what I want :)

Anyone have a LS swapped 3+3?

You've certainly done your homework. Looking forward to seeing it progress! Please continue keeping the thread updated regardless of how slow progress is :)

Anyone have a LS swapped 3+3?

IMO, assuming carb is tuned properly and the TBI is working properly for this comparison you'll get most of your MPG improvements with the extra gear in the transmission. I personally thing the MPG difference between an properly tuned carb and a properly operating TBI is very minimal.

Anyone have a LS swapped 3+3?

Only issue I would see with the LS 8.1 is that the engine wasn't around long. Does that impact parts availability at all? Otherwise, awesome choice of powertrain combo :waytogo:

Agreed. Just wish it was a little bit better where it needed to be. :(

Nah, I’ve left it for someone else. I don’t need another money pit  Will be cool for someone with the time and in need of something to tinker on and take to the next level, tho

Thing actually had good giddy up to it! Definitely could use some suspension upgrades, though. Has a 2” body lift and quite a bit of body roll for a little SUV

    Old77's 1989 S10 tinkering project

Well, the V8 s10 blazer was a no go. LOTS of positives about it, but no rear seat belts, steering was SUPER sloppy, oil pouring out of rear main, gas leaking from under throttle body, trans shifting was “funky”….All fixable stuff but not looking to finish up someone else’s project right now and...

    Old77's 1989 S10 tinkering project

The maroon burb is why I had the CTS wagon. Traded with a friend. To make the story short we then got a ‘17 Yukon XL Denali, had it for 4 months before in stranded us for the 4th time with electrical issues. The last time I got desperate and traded it in at the dealership it sat at with no ETA...

Absolutely with you!! Sanding sucks and it seems like it never ends. There’s definitely a reason why it costs $$$$ to pay a shop for a paint job and it has nothing to do with the paint lol

Thanks, man!! The S10 will be fixed and also a good experience for my 16 year old. He’ll definitely be there with me as we repair it :)

    Old77's 1989 S10 tinkering project

I wasn’t real vocal about it as I wasn’t all that excited about it but I did make the deal with myself so went through with it. In other news, my oldest kid who’s currently driving this S10 around has his eyes on a ‘79 that he’s trying to save up for  that thing might land in the...

Lol this is gonna be a long reply. Get comfy! Which caddy? I’ve had a few. My wife has an 09 Escalade which we got a year ago. SUPER long story there but here we are. I had an 09 CTS wagon that I liked a lot. Replaced the transfer case on it then found out it needed a trans and rear...

So a couple semi-humorous things surrounding the door drama  1. I THINK I might have a door coming my way and is set to arrive on Monday. Door is from Texas, $200 shipped to my door, transaction has been odd from the start so I may be out $200 so I'm holding my enthusiasm down until...

    Old77's 1989 S10 tinkering project

Got an order in today that consisted of rocker, cab corner, door pin/bushing kit and the air dam that goes under the front bumper. Only thing left is the door solution and I should have all that I need. I probably start working with the replacement fender this weekend. Hopefully I can get it to...

    Old77's 1989 S10 tinkering project

That would be awesome, man!! And I agree! The support we get on these S10s is pretty poor. Good parts are hard to find. I've found this with both doors and bed sides. NO ONE stamps complete bedsides so your only choice track down a used on that also needs repair or scab in patch panels. I've...

    Old77's 1989 S10 tinkering project

I'm down in the Raymore area but work up in the Liberty so am all over the area. If you snag one I'd happen pay for it and give you a little bit for your time, as well!! That would be awesome. I'm no where near the pick n pulls and when I have gone in the past everything is super picked over so...

    Old77's 1989 S10 tinkering project

As much as I've done in my driveway I'm actually surprised that I haven't gotten more nasty grams. I try to keep my stuff respectable but I've had projects out there that lasted longer than a week and never heard a thing. Wheels off, gas tanks dropped, kids in the cul-de-sac coming up asking me...
