I don't know if you can open these links or not, but here are some examples of what is for sale in our area. (I apologize if I didn't place the links correctly)...

Yes, our area is absolutely crazy. You simply can't find anything rust free and if you do, they demand premium prices. There are a number of dealers here that regularly buy trucks from your area and sell them here. I don't know if it is still as profitable with the current shipping costs, but...

Not a bad looking truck. Here in PA, that would be $7500+ considering it is rust free. Did I read that correctly, Powerglide?

What new tools have you got lately?

Look what I found at Harbor Freight today to replace my ancient bleeder that is playing a game of hide and go seek with me at the moment and winning. Seriously, I am anal about my tools and I have no idea where it is. Oh, and don't worry, my daughter drove me so this was the only thing I came...

That's not actually a bad price at all if it is in fact as rust free as it looks. You never see something like that at those prices in the north east.

Ted, it is definitely a regional resource for your area. I found this on their site. https://blog.thepapershop.com/about-us/ However, it looks like it is distributed in Broome County NY. I'll look for it when we are there next weekend.

Trade my 1978 RS/LT Camaro for your Squarebody….

Fair enough. You certainly have the right to do with your vehicles as your choose. With that said, you can see just from the reaction of us Square Body folks that there is a lot of interest in a car such as you listed here. You would have no problem selling it if you ever decide to do so.

Nice Car. Intrigued by the story of the hole in the floor though. How exactly did the previous owner create that from a stuck window?

No problem. I'll take a look again at Sheetz and also our local Sunoco. I didn't see it at first glance but I will check again.

What have you done to your square lately??

Well I attempted to get mine out today to take to a local show this evening. Brake pedal straight to the floor. Slid the cover back on and will deal with it another day. At least it decided to have a brake failure in the garage instead after I started down the road with it.

    Age of our members

Oh man, I can sympathize with your pain. Approx 15 years ago, I slipped on the ice coming on to our back porch and landed against the step with my left side. I broke the two bottom ribs. I've had a few minor surgeries over the years and even some broken bones when I was a kid, but I've never...

What new tools have you got lately?

True story, I have started to just send my wife or daughter to HF when I need something. In fact, I just had my kid pick up some glass bead blasting media for me the other day. It saves me a ton of money. They come back with exactly what I requested and nothing more. If I go, somehow my...

Sounds good. I wouldn't be shocked if we have it here. When I get to Sheetz in the next few days, I'll take a peek at everything and let you know. To be honest, we get more things from the Morgantown WV area than we even do Pittsburgh here in our little corner of the state.

You have me thinking about it now. I will definitely check tomorrow or Saturday. We have something called the PennySaver for sure. But, it isn't exclusively vehicles.

No, I've never seen it. I'll look close the next time I am at Sheetz.

I miss the old AutoTrader books that you could buy at the gas station.

There has to be a half dozen vehicles or more that have been for sale on Craigslist or Marketplace for nearing 2 years now. They keep relisting them at the same price over and over again. They know what they have sure has worked out for them so far.

What new tools have you got lately?

I went through a phase where all I wanted to buy was Snap or Mac. Great tools. But, very, very expensive. Guess what I do now, if I need something for a one time use.....I go to HF or as I mentioned above, Auto Zone or Amazon. Probably 60% of my hand tools are actually 50's and 60's vintage...

What new tools have you got lately?

I've purchased a few of those Duralast sockets recently from our local AutoZone when I've needed one in a pinch. (AZ is 5 min away) Anyway, I haven't broken one yet. For cheap auto parts store tools, they have been darn good.

    Budget Beater Build: 2004 Dakota

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. Believe it or not, I am actually looking forward to the challenge. The only mark on the entire truck is on the front bumper from where someone backed in to it in a parking lot. Other than that, the paint and body look fantastic for something 18 years...

    Budget Beater Build: 2004 Dakota

Thanks everyone. It's good to know that I'm not out of my mind trying to keep this around for a while. I'm hoping that having it on the road will make our fall easier. My daughter has been wanting a vehicle to drive to school in the fall. I hope this will work for her.

Here are a few pics of the rest of the truck. Everything works except the oil pressure gauge. Even the AC still blows cold. I don't have the heart to part this thing out. 91K on it. 4.7L V8, 3.92 gears.
