Is rear side window identical on 1990 Burb and 1980s dual/bonus cab?

I think they are the same. but the gasket changed at some point to cut wind noise. so if you have the later gasket you can just reuse it.

    TBI to Carb 1991 V2500

I actually do have a spare coil I also carry. I had ICM issues, but they were aftermarket parts. I use Delco parts 100% unless I am in a pinch.

    TBI to Carb 1991 V2500

a spare ignition control module is about all I carry that is TBI specific. and then the normal stuff - fuses, fluids, bulbs, hoses, wires, etc.

    TBI Issues

What have you done to your square lately??

do a search, it's been discussed. or direct a garden hose into the cowl area and see where the water comes out. should ne behind the front fender on each side. may be a plastic trim piece to remove. it's a clean, flush, clean, flush repetitive exercise.

    TBI to Carb 1991 V2500

Getting ALDLDroid from the Google playstore (about $20) and an OBD1 Bluetooth ALDL reader from 1320 electronics or Red Devil River (about $90) is what I recommend. I think 1320 may also have a free app you can use.

    TBI to Carb 1991 V2500

it also shows engine light codes, which you can get without an app, but is faster on the app. there's only a handful of things a scanner can do better - like command the computer to do a few functions.

    TBI to Carb 1991 V2500

you see most key parameters the engine sees. here is my main home screen in ALDLDroid

    TBI to Carb 1991 V2500

I'll be the dissenting voice and recommend sticking with the TBI. just get ALDLDroid and an OBD1 Bluetooth ALDL reader and download the GM manual for drivability and TBI is pretty simple to maintain.

Factory Seats; Why do they suck?

the seats in my 90 burb look a little different (bigger) than the blazer seats and they are OK for me. but they don't fold forward for passengers to get in like you need on a blazer.

What have you done to your square lately??

looks like it is running down the kick panel. might be time to clean out the cowl drains.

1984 Suburban rear ac wire routing

did you check for power at the switch? pretty sure the wiring runs up in the roof down the driver side.

    TBI Issues

hmmm. not sure about that. I'd think once the ECM sees the engine is dead it would stop pulsing the injectors.... you might check for intake manifold gasket or other vacuum leaks. put a timing light on each plug to see if each plug is receiving spark consistently. I once had an occassional...

    Intake Manifold Install

glad to help. I've tried to learn a lot about the TBI system because there isn't a ton of info out there. folks are either all in on carbs or have LS swapped if they wanted fuel injection. TBI is in the middle with a simple ECM but you still need some old school diagnostics like timing light...

Cruise control works for a while then starts to lose speed

most of the issues with not holding speed that I've had have been vacuum related. if you can't set the speed or you lose the speed setting when you touch the stalk, my issues have been switch related. the servo and module under the dash have never given me issues, yet (fingers crossed)

    Charging issue

are you measuring at the battery or using the gauge? on my 1990 burb, the gauge reads about half a volt lower than what is shown at the battery with a voltmeter. also, my ECM readout from ALDLDroid for voltage shows what the gauge shows, also about a half a volt lower than the battery. I am not...

    Intake Manifold Install

you could pigtail a new ICM connector in, sure. the large harness is a pain to see., but I had a small spot that rubbed through on the cruise control bracket that caused me headaches with the ECMB circuit. a bright flashlight has helped me find rub through because the wire is usually very...

    TBI Issues

if it is dumping too much fuel, check the coolant temperature sensor. if it goes bad, it can default to low temp and it makes it run super rich. ALDLDroid and a blue tooth ALDL reader helps a bunch for diagnostic on TBI

87 Custom Deluxe 30 shut off while idling.

lost power to everything or just the ECM? are the ECMB and ECM1 fuses OK? does rhe check engine light up when you turn the key to on?

    Intake Manifold Install

if it hiccups and the light came on, the code was set again. clearing codes can be done by disconnecting the negative battery terminal. but it sounds like you have an intermittent issue. check the ICM harness up against the firewall to make sure nothing is rubbed through. check to make sure no...

    Intake Manifold Install

it will store codes for about 30 starts. but if the code came back after your parts replacement, and may be intermittent, that seems to point to a bad connection or maybe a wiring issue somewhere in the ICM harness.

    Intake Manifold Install

yes, has to be an issue in EST or the 2 reference wires from ICM. that's the only things that will set code 42. could also be a problem at the connector plug at the ICM or the EST wire. Diagnostics in post #65

Cruise control works for a while then starts to lose speed

I'd just replace all the vacuum lines under the hood as cheap insurance, verify the check valve off the manifold line is working, and make sure the vacuum reservoir holds vacuum. if that all checks, you will have to look closer at the servo pod to make sure it holds a vacuum. I've seen YouTube...

Cruise control works for a while then starts to lose speed

mines a 90 and is still is a vacuum system, although there is an electrical control box that is between the switch and the vacuum servo pod that tells the servo what to do. not holding speed is most likely a vacuum issue in my limited experience. chapter 9 of the GM service manual covers...
