700r4 TV cable cause acceleration/run away with 6.2?

Is the cruise control somehow sticking on or somehow being engaged? Cruise control is the only thing i can think of that will suck the accerator pedal down. And the brake pedal switch will turn off the cruise and stop the issue. Is he accidentally "setting" the cruise when he uses the turn...

    EGR gasket seal

Pretty sure last time I replaced a EGR the old one had a gasket and the new one also came with a gasket. I'd get a gasket and use it, if it were me.

    sensor

Pic and engine details would be helpful. Best guess with the limited available information would be some sort of coolant temperature sensor for fuel injection, either TBI or aftermarket.

This one needs to go, asking for opinions. Offering it up here first.

I think we are all about to witness the swap of the year happen in this thread!

    Defrost doesn’t work

there is a panel that you can remove from the box under and to the left of the glove box. it is kind of a vertical piece, maybe 3 or 4 screws. you should be able to check for broken door clips and watch how the blend and air direction doors function and see what the issue is with it off

What have you done to your square lately??

Washed and waxed it as part of winter prep. Those new ceramic waxes are a little different to use, but I like the results....even on my old beat down paint.

    Kick panel leaking

the cowl drains exit behind the front fenders. watch where water comes out when you dump a hose into the cowl. there is a plastic trim piece to remove, if still present, and a little piece of permeable foam to pull out of the way. then you have to reach up with a stick or something and pull out...

    Ignition Coil wiring

The white to red splice is for a tachometer. Fuel pump relay power comes from an orange wire on the 440 circuit. Pink will be ign hot, and I think it runs through the fuse panel. The wiring manuals are in the Reference Library of this forum

    Show your daily driver

yes, for the last 6+ yrs...at about 15k miles per year. i give it a good wash/wax spring and fall, even though some previous paint job clear is failing badly. i don't let mud or road salt sit on it too long without a wash. and I visit Krown each fall, usually late October or early November. they...

I Krown my 1990 burb every fall. $150 per year is cheap if it keeps it from rusting.

    Best tires

The thing that helps stop best on ice is a lot of distance between you and what you might hit when you apply the brakes, short of studded tires

    Best tires

This is very subjective, but I have been pleased with BFG K02 for light off roading, highway, and snow. K03 are coming, and should be available next time I need tires in 3 years or so.

    Spark plug foul up

O2 voltage should be constantly varying back and forth between 0.1v and 0.9v as the computer constantly adjusts fuel. high volts is rich and it pulls fuel (fuel trims will be below 128). low voltage is lean and it adds fuel (fuel trims will be above 128). ideal AFR is around 0.5v, but it will...

    Np241 question

Might put it up on a lift and see if it is the T-case actually spinning the shaft or drag in the front hubs spinning the shaft, as mentioned above.

    Vaccum issue

Doesn't the cruise control also have a vacuum switch to kill the cruise when you hit the brakes?

late GMT400 interior lights wont shut off like a door is open.

see if any other odd things happen to be in the circuit. Just had an issue on my 90 burb where the gauges all went dead and turning on the head lights the buzzer buzzed bc it thought the key was off even while running. truck would run and drive ok. but the gage/idle fuse would blow as soon as...

Vintage Air Gen V (5) or replace existing compressor, etc., for 1987 R20 Suburban?

make sure air blows through it before you install it. reason I stress that is I didn't do that one time and then had to tear it down and replace it again.....new parts sometimes are also bad.

Vintage Air Gen V (5) or replace existing compressor, etc., for 1987 R20 Suburban?

make sure the rear expansion valve isn't clogged up before you reassemble the rear system. it should be open at room temp and totally closed at freezing temps.

    Repeated stalling

The biggest difference between open and closed loop is feedback from the O2 sensor. You could unplug it and start and see if it stalls out. Unplugging it will likely make the SES light come on, but shouldn't prevent it from starting/running. But agree with above, that disconnecting the EST...

Stuck E brake on 87 Scottsdale

I set my e brake every time I park, just like the owners manual says! Mostly to make sure that it will work when I need it.
