1985 K5 350 always running rich?
Yep, properly tuned carb and put some cats on it. I'm running dual 3" heavy duty flowmaster cats right after the collector on the long tubes. H-pipe is right after the transfer case. This is on a slightly hopped up L29 454 and I'm using the same setup on my 2011 Suburban with the 6.2 LS setup...- Bextreme04

Sooo... best case, you have a poorly tuned carb and you are getting 10mpg. If you drive your truck 20,000 miles in a year(not likely), you burn 2000 gallons of fuel in that year. Valvetrain noise and rod knock would be very similar speed, and yes.. much slower than that. That speed sounds like something hitting at crank RPM, but it isn't deep enough of a sound to be rod knock in my opinion. Sounds light and tinny to my ear in that video. My thought is that if you just had a shop do a clutch... did they maybe install too long of a bolt in the flywheel and its whacking something? dust cover bolts? It sounds too fast to be a rod and I'd be suspicious of the latest work being the issue.- Bextreme04

Yes, and because the amperage is pretty low, they don't need much connection to the bed or core support to be totally fine. Most light harness related ground issues are caused by the socket internally having an issue to the ground cable in my experience. Adding ground connections from body panels to the frame can be helpful, but it is usually due to the socket itself not having a decent ground.- Bextreme04

High Flow cats on a Blueprint 383
I agree you won't hurt anything by putting on high flow cats. I just put a pair of 3" stainless flowmasters on with a set of long tubes to replace some worn out ones on my 2011 Suburban. Do not use that port for a transmission temp gauge. It is for testing line pressure and is a dead head. You will get completely false temp reading from that port. Power steering fluid .. what type ?
Lots of high performance 4l80 builders recommend the Hy Gard fluid for their $5000 race transmissions... just make sure it is the low viscosity variant... regular Hy Gard is ~30 weight oil equivalent and will put a hell of a load on the pump. I'm not sure what you are trying to say here. I have not had any fail from them. It's a genuine Delphi. I've had a more expensive Carter pump fail and it had no warranty. So I was out the time and effort to go recover the vehicle, plus the time to replace it, plus the cost of the new pump...- Bextreme04

I have ran two different delphi pumps from autozone on two different motors and have had zero failures. I rebuilt a 350 and ran a new Carter pump on it that failed after ~500 miles while I was out in the middle of the woods hunting. The internal pump arm end had just sheared off.
