    Front Fender Well Inspection Covers?

Thank you. It is easy for me to imagine it is a reinforcement, increasing the material thickness at the inboard attachment and spreading the load out to formed lip of the fender outer. K

Any willingness on your part to remove those bolts? My recollection is you will find that triangular piece is welded on there. K

    tow rating - '90 2500 Suburban

We had a white race truck (85 C10 stepper with an aluminum 454) that was running 10.70's. We used to take it out to the grade and do launches; it was like being in a rocket ship. K

Any 9V6 Gunmetal Gray Trucks Out There??

Mr Neutron - where was your truck built? Joshua Keith - I see that your truck was built in Oshawa. If you are desperate to know more you have the luxury of two ways to find out: You can send your VIN to the GM Heritage Center and they will send your the original invoice, which will include...

    tow rating - '90 2500 Suburban

(I do). ;) It's pretty much what you would expect, in terms of evaluating braking and ride and handling. The only part that is perhaps not obvious now is the final check: you had to be able to launch up the 16% grade at the Milford Proving Ground from a standing stop, at GCW. There were a...

    tow rating - '90 2500 Suburban

Yes there is; you are welcome. If you look closely you'll see it's not so much the 4x4 that is knocking the rating down but the available gear ratios. The gear ratios available with the 4x4 version are a little more conservative because you can use the 4L feature of the T case to double the...

Doesn't this (bigger) inboard bolt attach the fender inner to the front of dash? Or am I thinking of something else - K

Any 9V6 Gunmetal Gray Trucks Out There??

So - having said that - it's taken me a while to develop an opinion on this, because I sure don't remember an "Outdoorsman" package. The structure of the option code (9V6) is not a normal RPO (Regular Production Option). The RPO codes are an alpha character followed by numbers, usually, like...

Any 9V6 Gunmetal Gray Trucks Out There??

Yes - you could order a special color back then, but typically not as an individual. If you had a small fleet going then GM would honor a request for a special color (like Ryder trucks, or Penske, or Mary Kay, or Caterpillar or whatever). They would load a small paint pot, separate from the...

Any 9V6 Gunmetal Gray Trucks Out There??

Thank you for taking the trouble to post that - It's not the same as the OP's. The RPO code for your primary color is 90U (where "U" = upper, or primary). 29L is your secondary color (where "L" = lower, or secondary). 90U = Steel Gray; 29L = Midnight blue metallic...

    Front Fender Well Inspection Covers?

Reinforcement for attaching the wheel apron (fender inner) at that location. The front end, because it is not integrated like a Dodge or a passenger car, is dancing around up there. It's pretty easy to image that bolt eating the wheelhouse up if it was only one material thickness at that...

    Rear Brake Options 87

Plus - the rear system line pressure is regulated down via the proportioning valve. If a person wanted more rear brake why wouldn't they just change the proportioning, open the pressure to the rears and let those puppies hunt? Way easier than melting and re-pouring the whole rear brake system...

Hello. And weight Q for title in Texas.

    I get 5643 lbs. www.gm.com/content/dam/company/no_search/heritage-archive-docs/vehicle-information-kits/chevrolet/1990-Chevrolet-Suburban.pdf 8600 gvw - 2957 payload = 5643. But - title weights don't mean a hill of beans anyways. K
