Of course. I used to help assign the trailer ratings. One of the criteria in establishing the GCW is "launchability" up a 16% grade. You have to be able to get that mass moving. K- Keith Seymore

I have Original front rotors?? I need replacements. 1' or 1.25 Look inside!
What is your GVW rating? Manual brakes and the lightest power system (JB1 and JB3, respectively) get the 1" rotor, which is kinda rare. Anything above that (JB5, which was the bulk of the production volume) gets the 1.25" rotor. K- Keith Seymore

Sorry for the delay in my response - It's an '04 2500HD, Duramax/Allison with 3.73 gears. GCW rating is 13,500 on the ball, 15,500 for gooseneck/fifth wheel. This was 15,500 if I remember correctly. I was moving it locally from one storage location to another for a friend. I would not go very far or very fast with this set up. K- Keith Seymore

Bed removal and using stock taillights
I did this, except I used the stepside (ie, "Grote" brand) taillamps and bolted them on. Be careful when driving, especially in the rain. It's not going to want to stop very well. K- Keith Seymore

Removing a leaf from a spring pack...which one?
Depends. The shorter ones at the bottom may be "overload" springs, that is, if they are thick and flat then they do not engage until the truck is really loaded. Yes - code 72U = Apple Red. WA7475. High solid enamel paint. Interestingly enough: my '87 was also build in Flint, and the VIN also ends in "xxx388". Built Monday Sept 29th of 1986. K- Keith Seymore

Added factory style body molding
Agree; well done, you. Warm day AND make sure the body side is clean (like with alcohol or some kind of adhesive prep) AND press really hard. In the assembly plant the rollers would press hard enough to oil can the door, just to give you an idea. I used a rolling pin from my wife's kitchen...- Keith Seymore

Take a piece of wood and set it on the emblem. Whack it with a hammer so that it breaks the studs. Install the new emblems with barrel clips. K- Keith Seymore
