Y'all wanted to hear about our local model car club, and what we build and the others who come to our show. It was yesterday at the Bay Area Community Center in Pasadena, Texas, down the street from NASA/JSC. We had over 200 models entered by about 35 entrants. Suburban Interior Trim
Yup that's how our square Burbs were. '84 and '90 had big plastic trim pieces around the long side windows. '75, '77 and '79 are just painted metal, like the body color. And the '79 was a Silverado, other two were Sierra Classic's. Only places they rusted were around the outside of those...- HotWheelsBurban

Crazy temps y'all are getting up there in the Northland. Buddy on the OBS forum lives out from Edmonton and it's supposed to be 93°F this weekend, then 95 Monday and 99 Tuesday. That's Texas temps!- HotWheelsBurban

My cousin (the one with the '60 Impala) had a '64 C10 for many years. After that, sold because the mileage (or lack of) was eating all his paycheck, he had a couple of TBI GMT 400s. Those are long gone and his current (retirement) truck is a '66 C10. He's so old school he makes me look good!- HotWheelsBurban

Beautiful Burb, welcome to the forum from Houston, Texas. My family had 5 square body Burbs, and the '84 and the '90 had the blue velour interior with power locks and windows. So the interior pics look very familiar!- HotWheelsBurban

What have you done to your square lately??
Dexcool does not play well with other coolants.... It was designed to be changed every few years, and problems arise when it stays in too long or gets mixed. Stuff in my crew cab is icky looking, but until it's water pump and hose time, it doesn't leak so it's staying.- HotWheelsBurban

What yr grill is this ?
IIRC they sort of press on. There's some notches on them that may go on bumps on the plastic....I think Dad used a small straight blade screwdriver and a putty knife to get them off. The ones I have for sale, he got them off several grilles and paid $$$ to have a guy in Austin restore them...- HotWheelsBurban

As far as I know and have seen, the feature line/raised panel on the square body hoods was not on them till the '79 models. I would figure the '77 mentioned, had the hood replaced at some point. When our '78 Sierra shop truck got wrecked in May of '79, the hood wasn't replaced, because it came...- HotWheelsBurban

Brush Guard, watchu tink?
In Houston that works to a degree. There's still some idiots that'll pull out in front of you.... But Rawhide is a bit intimidating. No idea what brand, came with the truck. I have two similar ones in the shop, neither entirely complete. Got one at the U Pull And Pay a couple years ago on 50%...- HotWheelsBurban

Factory power steering cooler? 1991 Suburba
Yup that's where it is. Why I can't get a good picture of it, especially with the brush guard in the way too. I think I have about $10-15 in that one, not much. Apparently the older ones are not painted because I have seen them rusty several times. Good to know there is a new alternative with...- HotWheelsBurban

OEM grille material
At least on the squares you have the separate headlight bezels, so if someone hits a corner it doesn't destroy the entire grille..... Got a corner whack on the Burb a couple years ago and just the grille was over $400. Other driver's Allstate paid for it though. Total damage was over $2500...- HotWheelsBurban
