Squares at Hot August Nights Reno, NV

Love the gold '70 GTO next to the beautiful Burb too! Our family car was a '70 LeMans that thought it was a Goat, same color of gold with a white top and gold vinyl interior. Burb looks stock but those are '80-up mirrors. They look better than the original rectangular ones though.

C10s on the Capital, Olympia WA. Photos for you all….

Love the '57 GMC Suburban (yup that's what the GMC version of the Chevy Cameo OG fleetside is called). That's a rare truck! Tow rig for that one, '77 C30 Silverado dually, looks right nice too. The gold 77 trim looks super sharp with the black and white paint. Back then, GM called the big utes...

Square body truck diecast for sale

There are a few other color combos but this is what the dealer next to me had. She gave me a good deal on them so I figured I would share the wealth.... Looks like a pretty good replica of the real Burbs (we had 5 so I hope I know what they should look like lolol).

    GMT 400 Suburban dually - info ?

No this guy is in the States, but he has a contact in Brazil. They've sold several sets, and they ship from Brazil (not sure of the state though).

    GMT 400 Suburban dually - info ?

Yes! I have too, seen some in the park over the last few years as well. Most RV production, particularly the higher end models, is very limited compared to our trucks. So you often see repurposed things like this. My neighbor has an old motorhome that has a late 70s Dodge van grille, but...

    GMT 400 Suburban dually - info ?

Interesting that y'all are talking about this....over on gmt400.com we've had a few threads on this very subject. There's a company in Brazil that has been making a different style of the OBS composite headlight lens/assembly, and these taillights. They use a circuit board like the US spec ones...

    Rare Hood Ornaments, Wow! $$$$

Holy cwap Batman.... I know the Sarge was a '77 trim package, and Beau James and Gentleman Jim were '75s, but anyone have production figures on any of them? Dad wanted a Beau James or a Gentleman Jim, but they would have had to special order one and he wanted a truck QUICK....so we got the green...

What have you done to your square lately??

Thanks for the information guys! Got another "odd" question; has anyone on here had a set of factory GMC wire wheel covers? The pix I find on eBay are a generic center cap insert, but I swear the caps Dad had on the '75 Sierra Classic had a silver/chrome center cap and the red insert GMC logo...

What have you done to your square lately??

Got a question for you: is the wide trim with the color band the same for 83-84 and 85-87? Cause the ones I have, are "marked" as 83-84 but they look like what you just put on your truck. I know 83-84 have the matching pieces for the headlight bezels, that the later ones don't use....

    Headlight bezel restoration

IIRC 73 and 74 the factory color for the recess around the headlights is dark gray, looks almost black. 75 they went to the Argent (silver) color. Another thing that looks cool on these is to color match it to the primary color on the truck. Dad painted the ones on his 75 Sierra Classic...

    Engine Identification?

Good to know! Did 400s ever come with a canister oil filter instead of the spin-on style? Thanks for the information!

    Engine Identification?

Without having the block code, is there any other way to find out if the small block engine I have (it's not in a vehicle) is a 400 without pulling a head? I have a Chevy small block engine that has 3 freeze plugs per side, but some other things on it make me wonder what I actually have.

    question about gmc vs chevy

The last time the Chevy and GMC trucks were significantly different was the '67-72 Action Line series. All the GMC trucks had the same grille, with quad headlights, and the Chevys had single headlights on each side (round eye) and 3 different grilles depending on the year. Chevys also had coil...

Clamp on roof rack? I'm feeling rather horny.

Many years ago Dad had a bar on the roof of our '79 Burb. All it had was the mount for the K40 CB antenna (removable mast for clearance and theft prevention). I think it was probably some sort of light bar, was made out of rectangular tube stainless steel. Bit me a couple times while washing the...

    Show your daily driver

Buddy of mine had a 2002 Silverado sportside, that he got from AutoNation when it was a couple years old. He said he saw it on a tour of their lot and he really liked how it looked. He agreed with me that the cateye front clip looks like it got sat on.... Not being a big NBS fan, I wasn't aware...

    Show your daily driver

Cateye front clip was on '03-06, and '07 classic. Pickup only, not on the SUVs. Though I have seen a couple of Burbs with the swap.

    1989 v3500 steering column question

The box on the door side(left side of the column) where the multi function switch is, IIRC is 84-91. The columns I still have are 73-83(no box, regular turn signal lever).

2024 Space City Shootout model car show and contest

The '64 Plymouth Petty car was the theme award winner for "1964". The big Ferrari engine, I think it won Best in Show, but not sure. It was quite impressive. You can get so much detail in the larger scale models.... I liked the red '62 Pontiac and the '37 Ford truck with the radial aircraft...

2024 Space City Shootout model car show and contest

Yup, only thing I could see it needed was for the trailer top to come off so you could see the Coors.... otherwise was perfect.
