OBS Burbs are like square body Burbs; pretty bulletproof mechanically, but they do fall prey to the dreaded Tin Worm.....

    Steering Wheel Cleaning

Skin oils and dirt are only part of the issue. Plastic, particularly the softer kinds, has oils in it that degrade over time, especially in hotter climates. Those wheels we used to clean with Simple Green, we used to scrub them with plastic net like fruit bags, it's one of the few materials that...

    Steering Wheel Cleaning

Many years ago, when we were getting the GM comfort grip spoked steering wheels from the local Pick Your Part's, we had a plastic washtub that was large enough to dip them in. We'd keep it about half full of Simple Green and water(I think 50/50 mix, don't remember but it probably has suggestions...

Has anyone weighed a 15x8 rally wheel

Things like that, are why Dad had a swap meet wagon. One time, many years ago, at the Decatur, Texas swap meet, I carried a genuine LT-1 Corvette aluminum intake manifold across the Wise County fair grounds(where the meet is held) all the way out to the last row of the parking lot, against the...

    Show your daily driver

Yup the long boys are fun to park, especially in tight lots, but it can be done. It helps me to visualize things from the aerial view, to see what direction I need to move it, to turn around in our front lot here at the park. Usually requires a three point turn.... it's about 60-65' to the fence...

What have you done to your square lately??

Phoenix is 1200 miles from Houston, half of that distance is between Austin and El Paso. You can fit several small states in Texas LoL.

What have you done to your square lately??

Cool thanks! I'm gonna go to it some year, it's a serious road trip from Houston, Texas. Gotta save up so I can afford to take some days off, and get the truck prepped and reliable. We have been to Austin and Lafayette in them, but the 5 hours to Lafayette is the longest run (and that was in the...

    Quadrajet Filter Spring

First one could a been me, helping my cousin with an engine swap for one of our parts store customers. Guy had a '64 Impala 4 door sedan, had 283 and PG, tired but ran okay (this was early 80s) and he's convinced himself that a target master 350 is what the car needs. We picked one up at...

    Bowtie Brush guard.... Opinions?

It'd be better if it had some sort of support on the back of it, rather than just being bolted to the center bumper brackets. Much of an impact in the wrong angle, it would probably take out the grille.....

Yup. GM went with HEI (in the big cap version) across the board in '75. Some makes and models went to it in '74; the Cadillac engine that used to be in our '75 Burb has it. I know the engine is a '74 because the guy who built the Burb, used the prior year's Cadillac running gear in them, after...

Never were common in my recollection. The two with tires were laying in the yard for a few years, I'd kinda forgot about having them. Last few years I've been trying to gather up parts for swap meets....

And yes that is a square body Burb rear bumper, parallel to the fender. I have two, this one has the brackets and license plate holder. Nice used condition, has very minor dents. The steel wheels with green paint on them are Mopar Rallyes, sold those at that show. The big alloy wheels are the...

Yup! You are correct sir! Mom had an '81 MC with the factory styled steel wheels, bought brand new the day they came out. Dad and I saw the checkerboard alloys in the brochure and decided we wanted a set, and finally found a used set years later. We sold the Monte Carlo years ago, and I don't...

    Truck Size

Yuppers! After I got my OBS crew cab, I was at the local toy show. Knowing how long the truck is, and knowing what room we had at the venue (and that room doesn't have much parking in front of it), we got there early so we could back in near the door. Two other vendors came in, in new Chevy crew...

1992 RS Camaro. First car for Der Burger.

Yup that passlock system started on the Camaro, Firebird and Corvette, in the late 80s because of their high theft rate. Didn't get it into the trucks until '98. Another reason why I'm glad my crew cab is a '97..... already dealt with it on Burb.

Originally in their Camaro and Corvette usage the Comfort Grip three spoke steering wheel was black, then in the later usages they started to have colors. Blue(in a few different shades), red, tan and gray. We used to find them in the local yards, 20-30 years ago when the cars they were in, were...

Welcome from Houston, Texas...man you have a couple of gorgeous trucks! Neat to see a square with the old school Comfort Grip three spoke steering wheel; Dad had those on most of our square body Burbs. He liked the factory 4 spoke on the '90 so it stayed stock.

    Year ID - Headlight Bezel

Chevys used that bezel with the V22 option for 81/82. GMC used it for those years, as well as 83-84, since they didn't use the color band between the two headlights (matching the grille on Silverado V22). Another thread I replied to recently, had several brochure pictures and reminded me of...

    Correct Rally Wheel color????

If you don't mind having more metal flake in the paint, there's a Dodge truck silver that Duplicolor used to have, that is close to the GM Argent in shade. I used it to paint some Chrysler Rallye wheels and it looked great, think I might have sprayed some GM Rallyes with it too(since we had...
