You can run the stock shock. The spindles do not affect the suspension travel which is what the shock sees. It only sees the 1" shorter spring which isn't an issue.
Also if you haven't bought the parts yet. Do the 2.5" spindle an a 2" spring. The 3/1 combo usually leaves the front a tad higher...
POL purchased Western Chassis a few years ago. Its a shame because rather than elevate the POL line to the quality that WC used to have they lowered WC named products to POL standards and their ****** customer service....
The 75-80 gate side hinges are made into the gate, they aren't removable. To run an 81+ gate on an older bed you have to use the 81+ bedside hinges an also the large rubber bumper. Basically use everything for 81+ an it'll work like it should.
I would have to check the final total but we did this 85 at my shop for less than 6k I think. We sourced an pulled the donor drivetrain (wrecked 02 suburban) pulled the old drivetrain etc. He drove it in with a 305/th350 an drove it home with the 5.3/4l60. Goal was a clean stock looking swap...
You can't use the 87 pump, they don't put out enough pressure for the aftermarket efi. Use one from a 96 on the 87 sending unit to get the proper pressure, as long as it's a fairly stock engine.
The relay I've used on our suburbans is four seasons 36141. It's designed for them so it just plugs in line to the compressor clutch. You don't have to do any wiring. Basically when you or the a/c system request the compressor to engage, it will pulse it for a few seconds then cut it off for a...
Low mount is bad because liquid refrigerant can run back down the hoses into the compressor. Then the next time you turn it on it breaks the reeds in the compressor an kills it. It's a common issue in gmt800 suburbans an tahoe with rear air. Mainly if you run the front without also running the...
The thread on the 97 should be a metric o-ring just like the box. You should be able to make the factory line work. I'd the 97 pump has the svo valve on it you can remove it an install the factory fitting from the 85 in the pump.
That's what I did on my 78, I used the factory pump fitting an a...
You probably just need a shorter tire, usually somewhere around a 27" overall height work for anything dropped 4" or more in the front. If they are 16" rims something like a 235/60 should work
I order to control both pumps in the tank you have to use 87 model parts there as well. The older valves were not built with the current draw of a pump in mind. This requires changing the wiring an switch to 87 spec as well.
I've sold a few sets through my shop but haven't installed the squarebody ones yet. Most people go with a smaller chrome or billet overflow tank an ditch the washer one. Just depends on the look you're going for.
I'm not discounting his experience at all. I'm not saying he did anything wrong either. We've had a few discussions about it an I dont want to start that up again. I've had a few now I couldn't get the issues worked out of an they went back to a carb too. But for all the bad reviews you see...
For fuel only they are great. They get touchy when using timing control. Avoid the temptation to use that an they work really well. In a mostly stock motor application an hei does a perfectly fine job.
I've had my standard sniper for over 3 yrs an probably 25k miles now. One of the best things...
It's a 2015 I bought with about 56k miles. It has 67k right now. It was a 1 owner, no mods,, no accident, full service record from dodge type deal so I thought I was pretty safe on it being a good one.
