    Header Gaskets

Got ready to install my headers and realized the gaskets I had were some cheap fiber ones that came with the headers. Was wondering what you fellas used that worked. Fel-pro? Copper? etc. I have Edelbrock E-Tec (vortec style) heads and anything I saw that looked interesting never mentioned...

What brake lines to get for lifted c10

Found them. Here's what I ordered: https://www.inlinetube.com/products/ct1018 I used the rear line but the fronts were too long. They are braided stainless and measure 25" long. If you have any use for them, shoot me an offer.

    factory bumper carriage bolts?

I went to the hardware and got the same looking carriage bolts only in stainless. Then I polished the heads on a wheel into a mirror like reflection. I think they look better than the bumper (currently). lol

What brake lines to get for lifted c10

I got a set from Inline Tube - was for a 4-6" lift and too long for my use.

What are you using to paint wing window frames

I'd go with a satin - had mine powder coated (satin black).

What have you done to your square lately??

Messing with peripherals until its warm enough out to paint. Finally got all the new parking brake cables installed. Once in, they rubbed against one of my rear sway brackets, so modded a couple of insulated cable straps and made it so the cables wont touch anything. Next up is finishing the...

Best media for blasting the body

Fella I use will do everything but the roof with regular sand (turns the pressure down) but prefers walnut shells. Did mine - gotta do it again to get all the zinc-phosphate off.

    Where to get quadrajet rebuilt?

Mountain Man Fuel - I read all the car sites and they sing high praises to him - said his specialty is q-jets and they come back ready to bolt on and go. Couple guys with big blocks both said their mileage went crazy good too. https://www.mountainmanfuelsystemsllc.com/ I sent mine there, then...

    Vent hose lines

I have 2 hard lines left over at the rail - one goes from the tanks to the canister - anyone know what the other one goes to (one towards the bottom of pic)? THX

    USA1 Industries door panels

I see LMC as kind of a Walmart - they'll have what you want just dont expect Lloyds of London quality. The USA panels come loaded (whenever they come). The LMC panels are ala cart. Gotta order every trim detail and install them yourself. I did get a dash from USA in under a year - got lucky...

Fuel Pump Sending Unit Main Harness

Here's one of the pics I have of when I pulled the motor and some of the wiring was exposed. The PO must have gotten a great sale on solid core red wire and fudged it everywhere by cutting out chunks of the original harnesses.....so not sure if what I'm looking for was gone when I got it. I know...

Fuel Pump Sending Unit Main Harness

Does anyone know where the main harness (from the selector valve on the right side) enters the cab? I have pics before disassembly - there is a main harness going forward on the right side and another that crosses over the crossmember to the left side. I think part of that crossover harness is...

What new tools have you got lately?

Well, kind of a new tool......made an after cooler setup for my air compressor. Used a Derale trans cooler - funny, when you look them up, there's one link for trans cooling and 20 for air compressors. Didn't want to use the goofy 'hanging it with a zip tie' idea so made a mount from some 2"...

Thread size for 5/8 steering wheel nut

    I know in the 80s it was a fine metric - M14 x 1.5 iirc. I had a 9/16 x 18 on a 78 Buick column as well.

    Wiper help

Rebuild it. They are all pretty much the same inside, but I would update it to the later style then rig a contact switch for the washer pump.

    A couple more sensor questions

According to that chart, a 1/2" should be 2-3 turns. Mine's at 3 1/2 exactly, so sounds like I'm ahead of the game......or, deeper than expected (thats what she said). :hat:

    A couple more sensor questions

I have seen both yeas and nays for that test port but will definitely avoid it. I read an article where a guy said he installs an inline trans spin on filter and puts the temp sensor there (?!). Sounds interesting. I've removed alot of those sensors from the pan that were smashed or bent over...

    A couple more sensor questions

A few pics just need a second opinion on. The old 4N cars I used to build - the sensors most always sunk to the shoulder. Does this temp sensor look like its even in far enough? Its very tight at this point. Half tempted to run a tap in it. Think its too close to the header? This is on the...

    Oil Pressure Sender Port

Is this port used for an oil pressure sensor - think it is but not sure. I can put a rod in that hole almost 10" deep. WTF? There is also a hole right next to it (kind of half-under the intake) - anyone know what thats for? This motor was totally stripped when I got it so nothing to go by as...
