    ‘87 454 R20 eye watering exhaust w/ windows down

Just confirming what has been said. Old CJ5 soft top. I ran the (single) pipe straight out the back. No problem with top on. Would choke you out of the vehicle the faster you went with the back window and doors off. Stuffed a 45deg bend on the end of the pipe, down and out to the side. Got rid...

Wow, no idea they made them plug n play with camper tiedowns etc.

Yeah urban is (still) / was worse than rural. I recall dad comparing his rust issues to friends up in NW WI and our cars, garaged, but driven basically in the suburbs all winter didn’t last near as long as friends who had the same vehicles out in the sticks up north. Part of the reason is half...

^Learned something new today. Didn’t know the resistor affected gauge sweep. Thought it just kept the gauge from bouncing

Dude, you’re just rubbing salt in the (lol salt hahaha) wounds of everyone in the rust belt! It’s cruel for car guys. You’re from here I believe. Don’t understand the struggle! Hahaha I grew up in Shitcago. In 1990 I had a 75 C20 and an 80 Blazer. Both of which looked like @AuroraGirl truck...

    Tubular on the c1oh

Springs and sway bars control body roll. Almost exclusively. Other stuff helps other stuff. Rear shocks orientation isn’t contributing to it either.

    Defrost doesn’t work

I don’t even want to look at the broken part but the defrost doesn’t work in the 77. Figure gotta take the heater box out at some point lol. Not the first time.

This one needs to go, asking for opinions. Offering it up here first.

I didn’t see where he said it’s 1 ton axles. But regardless, yeah it’s either a deal or not for someone. Super cool but a limited buyers market. If you look past the lift and 3 grand in tires and wheels it’s a $3-4k truck bad engine, mismatched axles, other fcked up chit, needs interior work...

Agree with ground issue. And likely it’s something you removed. Since they worked before.

There’s a dude in the next thread down with a turbo 400 looking for a 700r4 setup. You two should spend the weekend together.

    Hello from Flint

BIG10 stepside? Never seen one. Tell me more… Short or long box? Regarding a repower, it’s as you’d imagine. A running milquetoast 50 year old 165 hp when new 2 bolt flat tappet 350 is probably worth more as a running takeout engine to sell, unless you just want the same ole 350. Piles of...

    Rebuilding my dash pad.

Have seen some nice dash pad rebuilds. If you’ve done upholstery work should be not too difficult for you. Common theme is the nicest looking ones were topped with a stretch fabric.

Bleeding rear brakes on 1978 C30 dually

If the wheel cylinder is new, the bleeder isn’t rusted in so just use an open end wrench. If there’s not room to get a box wrench over the end, that sucks but not until the next time 10 years from now when it’s rusted tight. I generally put a bit of antiseize on bleeder screws…..for next time.

    Front end noise

If not bearings or u joints in the front and nothing loose with the brakes, and presumably speed variable noise, I’d start looking at the front diff or transfer case. Remove front driveshaft and see if noise disappears or can isolate it further? Being full time 4wd everything is spinning all the...

What have you done to your square lately??

I get it. The struggle is real. Lived in Phoenix for 2 years. First winter I ran around in shorts and flip flops all winter. 2nd year I wore a hoody and thought it was chilly sometimes! Lol. Although I resisted the urge to switch to winter oil after the AC didn’t kick in for a week! Haha all...

Opinion thread- 81 silverado grill you like or ?

Cool plan. Thought about a couple led cubes in each opening. Bright white and yellow fog. However not a fan of painting grille and bezels white though. For the $30-40 to get a pint of silver/argent. Maybe a bit less if you get creative. JMO. Your truck looks awesome even though you consider it...

    Best tires

Agree 100% if I was going for the best quality and most expensive at the same time. I was assuming the high school kid wouldn’t be down for $400-500 a piece tires. Not a great value if not pounding out high miles. Any ole mudder will do the job about equally bombing around the farm and hunting...

Still think it would be cool to use a 81-82 bumper on a later model and have a spot in the bumper for fog lights or driving lights.

    350 small block

What they said above. And do a little googling on replacing and adjusting. Not too difficult to replace. But test first like said above. Open the throttle and pump it a couple times. If you don’t see a good primer squirt of gas come out the acc pump is likely the issue.
