    Correct Rally Wheel color????

Yeah it’s Light Driftwood Metallic. Random I know…lol. Had a couple 2nd Gen’s with that color and then sprayed a silver GMC that color when I repainted it. Was close enough in color that the jambs and firewall etc almost matched. It was a scuff n squirt not a restoration. I had, still have some...

Hey Chuck I messaged you the whole conversation I had with @TotalyHucked about wheels. Should answer your questions.

I’d go 1/8 by 1/8. That might blow before the truck melts!

Doesn’t get anymore precise than that. Call it 1/8 or 1/4. Don’t matter.

    Cracked frame/shock mounts help

I’d do nothing at all in your case. It’s not like these are weak unless the truck is beat on pretty good. Which I suspect won’t be the life your truck leads.

    Paint codes

Nice blazer! If you’re repainting the top, paint code won’t matter so much there. If you’re wanting to match an unknown color (since the truck appears to have been repainted blue) many places will match off a color chip. Find the best non faded example of the paint. I used an interior piece...

    Lowering 1981 c20

If you add it up, just look at your suspension now and add the thickness of the springs, the perch and the axle and that’s how much it will lower it. About 6-6.5”. As far as lowering kits and parts, they are plentiful, anything you might need.

    fuel venting

Wonder if you can’t find a vented filler cap, or make the OE cap fully vented? And yes the line from the evap can towards the rear is likely what should be plugged into the 3 port fuel sender.

    fuel venting

I think someone replaced the fuel sender with an early 2 port model. AFAIK by late 70s they were 3 port. Is there a problem you’re trying to solve or just thinking maybe your tank isn’t vented?

1987 454 TBI down on power, runs good otherwise

The side with the original injector plug is spraying like chit. The newer connector side (aftermarket so no color coded wires) looks much better. I’d call that an issue. And reasonable that an almost 40 year old injector could be plugged worn or faulty. Who knows if the injector was replaced...

    Hub and rotor help

What do you mean by “no difference”? What condition are you looking to still correct? What makes you think you need hubs and rotors? If they spin fine and rotors aren’t warped or otherwise trashed, idk why one would replace them. I don’t have photographic memory of the last time I took the...

    Rear Leaf Springs

Since you’re committed to a flip and looking for 6” drop, may as well start with stock springs since you’ll need oe height springs anyway. Remove a leaf or 2 if you want a softer ride.

    Rear driveshaft help.

If Im reading it right, slip yoke splines aren’t the issue. It’ll likely work fine either way, but the short half of the driveshaft (the slip yoke end) should go to the transfer case. If it’s on the axle end it’ll wear the splines quicker.

    Just curious.

I’ll admit @Laqota is backwards on some of his thinking there, and there are other considerations with 80s 305s and deleting “stuff”, but yeah, not everyone has 40 years as a Chevy mechanic or whatever…

    Battery / charging isolator.

@hey mister There’s several ways to skin that cat that may be more economical, but if you want a whole setup including the wiring to go to a truck camper plug, maybe I can help. Prev owner of the C10 had all new camper wiring and isolator installed along with dual battery setup only a couple...

    Cheap defective aftermarket parts….lol

Funny story, when I saw the leak on the tank it was coming off the drain plug. Aftermarket tank w/ drain plug. Very thoughtful. I thought what are the odds that the day before I had to weld up a heavy duty 9/16 Allen wrench out of a 3/8 grade 8 bolt and nut to put 1000ft lbs or whatever a...

    Cheap defective aftermarket parts….lol

Thanks! I’m keeping them. Best lookin “cheap” wheels I ever bought. And they really match the truck and paint colors imo. They’re not all gone. I didn’t get the exact width and offset I wanted for the rear wheels and would have preferred the gold w machined lip, but for $150 a piece it’s hard...

    Cheap defective aftermarket parts….lol

Could very well be. And the rattling may be next. Blue truck had old Flowmaster 40s on it. Exhaust all looked clean and not rusted. But it was from the late 90s. Once we drove it a bunch after restoring, first one muffler sounded weird (side exit exh so easy to compare), a little more muffled...

And to be clear, I was being sarcastic and not serious or frustrated. The old aux fuel tank, hell, that pinhole coulda been there for 40 years and just patched up a couple times. No biggie, other than having to siphon out 20 gal of gas last night…lol. Fortunately that’s easy on an old straight...
