What's the best way to drain the gas tank?
I must be missing something. This has two tanks, and a switching valve. If that is right,, you can go underneath and pull the line that connects to the valve from the bad tank, and run it into a container to drain it. . 454 SM465 4.10 vs 3.73 vs 3.54
My K20 has 4.10 gearing, with a turbo 350. With 33" tires my tach is right at 3000 rpm, I don't particularly like that. I am going to a 4l80e. 1979 Big 10 Engine & Transmission Upgrade
Love what you do Mark. But you got the disease like a bunch of us here....just a lil' bit more...Gonna take mine to the strip when it opens, run the BB K20 probably a 15 sec truck. Have a BW 475 turbo..and also a nice LQ4. Been thinking of an LS swap into the K20 and a 454 swap into the 54 3600.- Craig Nedrow

Metal prep for frame
What I have been using, Chassis Saver is great stiff, had it on the drive train a few years, and still shiny and new looking. Rust converter B-4 paint. Craig Hursh turned me on to the Dupli-Color, he did his frame. It is durable, easy to apply.- Craig Nedrow

6.2 For A Daily Driver? What Are The Downsides?
I have a 85 6.2 that I bought a few years ago, and have been tinkering with it to no avail. New glow plug controller, rebuilt fuel injection pump, new block heater. 400 SBC Build - Tight Budget
Like Mark Jones, I work in a machine shop, get asked this all the time. It depends. A complete block with tin etc, if everything specs good, saves $. If the bore is in spec, hone and new rings. 400 are thin wall, so not wise to bore over to much, so if an overbore is needed, shoot for .010...- Craig Nedrow

Holley issues
Holly is my fav carb, but I have a q-jet and AFB as well. Brian, Matt and Rob are giving good advice. If is runs rich, FIRST!!! adj the float level, super easy. Best Door Hinge Lubricant
Paraffin wax. Grandpa was a government trapper, and he had a five gallon bucket had 3 inches of wax in it. Fill 2/3 full of water, welt the wax. How to tell if rings are bad on engine w/out heads
Time and money, never enough, but I agree with John, (peats), above. I would do valve gaskets, check the lifter clearance, (1/2-3/4 turn down from zero lash,) drive it. Heater Motor?
Not often do you see that kind of six cyl, mostly in heavier trucks, or busses. Is the engine original? Got my eye on a truck similar to yours, that has been setting for year. Squares are habit forming.- Craig Nedrow
