    4L80e 1987 C 10 ls swap not shifting

You need to determine if you have a vss problem or whether you're in limp mode due to a failed/shorted solenoid or short/problem somewhere upstream of the transmission. So follow the procedure i specified above and let me know if the trans feels like it's in the same gear as when it's plugged in...

    4L80e 1987 C 10 ls swap not shifting

What is the "stand alone harness" connected to? Unplug the large connector on the driver's side of the transmission, get in, fire it up and put it in Drive. If it feels different then you're in second gear when plugged in which means limp mode. If it feels different (i.e like its in a deeper...

    4L80e 1987 C 10 ls swap not shifting

Is the transmission stuck in first gear or 2nd gear?

    4L80e 1987 C 10 ls swap not shifting

Sounds like either it's in limp mode or no vss data is being received...What's the deal with the transmission? Is it a fresh rebuild or used? What are you using to control the transmission?

115 is fine, basically as long as it's functioning as it should, your temp is good, as far as the low side is concerned...I don't like to see anything higher than 175-185 on the high side for the Powerglides, three and four speeds...The six speeds can be as high as 200* or so as they were...

    1984 k10 700r4 won't shift out of 2nd please help!

Glad it will be getting rebuilt. The vette servo wasn't partially installed, it only applies to 2nd gear. 4th gear uses an additional piston inside that servo cover, which is the same across all 700R4s and 4L60Es (there's aftermarket billet servo assemblies available for both 2nd and 4th gear)...

    Transmission ID

Colors are irrelevant...Using TCIs speedo calculator, you need to plug in your tire diameter, final drive ratio and drive gear tooth count to determine the tooth count for the driven gear. This will get you close to spot on. There should be a number in front of the "CK223....). That number...

Yep, true. Think they have a 200-300 rpm difference compared to the SBC V8 gas TCs

Buy the Superior Tech governor kit. Should have what you need to adapt your gov for diesel

    700R4 Information Thread

Governor is the primary difference. The valve bodies themselves are the same between gas and diesel applications...200-4Rs by contrast, use different governors, valve bodies and 1-2 accumulator housings (in case anyone was wondering, lol).

I actually set one up for a 200-4R recently so the 700R4 isn't all that different and I imagine will involve the same or very similar steps.

I imagine that could be possible, if you wanted to either make different size restrictors to achieve a certain pressure 'floor' which can be adjusted by either swapping out different restrictors or making an 'adjustable' restrictor...You'll have experiment and test...I'll look into it also and...

You basically have to block the TV Boost valve so it's wide open and same with the TV limit valve. You also need to modify the reverse boost valve to avoid a severe overpressure condition when in Reverse. I think I have some instructions Chris at CK gave me a few years ago so if I can dig them...

4L65E Mega Monster Transmission - Destruction and Shift Kit check balls

Thanks, I am aware of his channel but don't watch as between working on them daily and creating content for my own YT channel, I don't really have bandwidth to look at other channels like I used to. Have you visited my TH400 info thread here? That has a lot, if not all of the same information...

Hey Everyone, Starting a similar thread to the one available for the 700R4 but dedicated to the 4L60E as countless GM cars, trucks and SUVs were fitted w/them from 1993-2013/14 and often retro-swapped into Squarebodies. Posted below is my teardown and inspection video that covers everything you...

They look/sound familiar, perhaps they're on eBay or sell via Amazon...If they provide kits w/Alto, BW, Raybestos, etc friction elements they should be good to go...Most of my soft parts are either sourced locally via Transsttar's distributor here in town or distributors out of Cali. Since you're outside CONUS, best bet is probably eBay or perhaps Amazon. I like the kits sold by Transparts Warehouse (ebay search: "TH400 Deluxe kit); most come with upgraded Alto high energy clutches, new steels, both bands, paper/rubber kit, bushings, filter, etc. For a stock build, you...

You're welcome, Ken...Symptoms can be an indicator of worn applied elements, particularly the forward and direct clutch packs...There are two applied elements working when in reverse: The low reverse band and direct clutch. You can use the TCI gear calculator to get a good idea of what you need, drive and driven gear wise when it comes to tooth count. It will get you close but the only fool-proof way is to simply count the teeth on both gears...

4L65E Mega Monster Transmission - Destruction and Shift Kit check balls

The trouble spot is the 1-2 check ball location...much more so than the others however if Torlon check balls were used, it's not likely to be worn as if steel 1/4" balls have been installed. If you have to drop the valve body and plate again for any reason, please post a picture of it cleaned off...

4L65E Mega Monster Transmission - Destruction and Shift Kit check balls

Anytime there is failure in the gear train, thurst-driven destruction is almost guaranteed as once individual components start breaking up, teeth start stripping, you being to have significant, uncontrolled (and violent) longitudinal travel of the rotating assembly, either in part or as a whole...
