    What is this wire?

The plug you are showing is for the electric choke oil pressure switch. Are you getting power to the ignition switch? Do any of the accessories work, wipers, radio etc? If not then the fusible link from the starter is open. If you have power for the accessories and they are working, then the...

Power Steering Pump Fitting Part Number

If the 2006 pump was on a 2 wheel drive 1/2 ton truck with a rack and pinion steering gear, yes. The rack requires less pressure. With a Saginaw steering box on the '06, relief is good.

Power Steering Pump Fitting Part Number

The part you need is a relief valve. Commonly called flow control valve. Early squares have an SAE hose fitting with an inverted seat seal. Later squares like yours, will have a metric "O" ring seal hose. Amazon has them, but they don't state which one it is. I would think it is the later...

Did you find any rodents in the air cleaner? You got me beat, I never pulled a fuel pump that looked that bad!

    Air Storage Tank Alternatives

I use a medium duty truck air tank. Yes, much heaver than the freon can, but it was free. It was on a wrecked truck going to scrap. No worries about a failure, if it rusts out, they just start to leak. I added a gauge and relief valve.

I ran with the short bright trim rings instead of the deep dish rings.

    Automatic slack adjuster lever question

Back in the day (old man comment) it was not so uncommon for mechanics to remove the auto adjusters in their own vehicles. Change the engine oil, adjust the brakes also. All part of the oil change service. Those brake linings from what I see, are riveted. Another seasoned mechanics' choice over...

    1984 C30 Dually Brakes

Yes metal does cut the rotor quick. If you are not the original owner, they may have been already resurfaced.

GMC Savana, Plus a Chevy Express Now Too

The van is okay, but I like the farm gate! Gone are the days the truck stops and you get out your nail file, dress the points and continue on you trip.

    1984 C30 Dually Brakes

Those old rotors are thick enough, if the surface is poor they can be re-cut. Many parts houses would have rotor and drum machines to surface them.

How long is the bed, can you load a pickup truck? From the picture the bed looks short.

Charcoal / vapor / evap canister, how it should be set up and other information

Welcome to the forum Mark! It is customary for new members to add a picture of their square. The charcoal can is okay, but most of us would like to see the truck it is sitting in. Shinny, rusty, whatever, we all like pictures.

    Found my vibration/shuddering issue

I would not worry about contacting a previous owner. What I would do, is replace all the torque converter bolts with the correct new bolts. Install with blue Loctite and torque to spec.

Time to put a sound system in the hotrod, wanna bounce some ideas

If you do decide to cut the dash, don't just cut the rectangle hole. Instead, cut straight across the top and bottom, not the sides. Bend the metal back on each side to make the DIN hole. That way it is easy to reconstruct the original two shaft mount by bending the metal back, couple tack...

Sad Discovery: GM 10 Bolt Fails

You don't need a new rear. You need a new differential. Buying used rear end could be cheaper, but what do you get? Another butched up potential problem? If the gear set is okay, buy a diff. Buy new side bearings. I would also want to check and clean the pinion bearings, so at least a new seal...

Sad Discovery: GM 10 Bolt Fails

@AZ Highlander Okay, very clear now. That is a Govern Lock differential where the locking (spinning) governor is missing. There would be a long pin with the locking part mounted where the two holes are inside the larger opening. One end of the pin has gear teeth that engage the small teeth on...

Driving K20 without the rear driveshaft?

Here is what you do. Take a soda or beer can and cut the top off. Wipe off the drive housing, then take duct tape and wrap it around the housing and pull it off. Do this a few more times until the duct tape has pulled all the crud off the housing and the tape is now sticking well. Slid on the...

Sad Discovery: GM 10 Bolt Fails

Did you close this up and re-fill with oil yet? I would like to see a picture of the opposite side of the differential. From what I can see, this differential has been apart before. Eaton makes the GM Govern lock. Eaton also sells a Govern lock, slightly different than the GM part. Many second...
