    Radiator recore or buy new?

I just pulled the original radiator in my '75 K/20 with an automatic and took it in to get cleaned as I'm replacing hoses, thermostat and coolant. Cave Radiator in Kingman, AZ is the only one left as well, it's been in the family since 1970. Anyway, he told me I had a few minor leaks (which I...

    core support bolts

I agree, antiseize is the best solution I've ever seen or, stainless steel. I just remove the thermostat housing bolts on my 1975 350, the threads on the bolts were half gone from rust, I'm replacing with stainless steel bolts. The block threads are good, I chased them with a tap.

    Block Heater install, Removing Plug?

If you haven't already installed the new block heater, don't. Buy a Kat's tank heater, more wattage, faster heating, better circulation. Follow instructions and you'll be very happy with it. Either put it on a timer or plug it in an hour before starting, 2 hours if it's below -20. I was a heavy...

    Fender Antenna

My '81 Custom Deluxe had both antennas, one in the glass and one mounted on the fender/cowl. When I bought it, it had an aftermarket AM/FM cassettes player but in rural AK I couldn't get any stations and my 3 year old daughter stuffed the cassette player full of .44 Rem mag rounds and couldn't...

Low oil pressure but engine runs great

My '75 350 always runs at 30-35 PSI. If it's over 100 degrees out it runs about 25 at idle. I run 10W30. I have 2 mechanical gauges, factory in dash and SW in a panel. It seems low to me and I'm always watching the gauges but like you, the engine runs quiet and smooth. Try hooking up a...

    Rear Wheel is Stuck !!

Obviously the tire/rim assembly hasn't been off in awhile. If you rotate your tires a couple times a year, they should come off easier. If there's a chance the rim rusts to the hub or drum, use some antiseize. I've never lived in a climate where the rim sticks like that but I've had many tires...

    Oil fill extension tube

You're right, no problem at all working under the hood, everything is easily accessible. It's simple and reliable, parts are common and most everything is not metric. NAPA probably carries the gaskets and if you're careful, you can work them on and off.

    front disc squeal?

I've found that dust and dirt is the most common cause of brake squeal for my vehicles. Pull the tire/rim assembly and do a visual, check for rocks stuck in the caliper rubbing on the rotor. I guess I'm just up the road from you in Dolan Springs. Welcome

    Oil fill extension tube

Looks great! I'm glad it was what you needed. It was just sitting on my bench gathering dust. Nice shiny valve cover. One of these days, I'll take a picture of mine.

    Oil fill extension tube

Yes, I would have to switch valve covers. They're not leaking so I won't flip them. I dont really need the extension. When I change oil, I just remove the air cleaner and I never have to add oil between oil changes. It was more of "making it easier" thing.

    Hubs

Sometimes I'll leave the hubs locked on my '75 K/20 in 2WD. 90% of my driving this truck is off road, no asphalt. If it's bare dry pavement, I unlock the hubs. If it's just sitting or driving on wet or icy pavement, I'll leave them locked.
