Hi everyone!
My name is Tony, and I'm new to the GM world. I used to have a 1998 K10 that was a total mistake (diesel to gas swap done purely) so I've switched to fords (I know I know don't kill me for it. To be honest I still have an '86 F250) but after some years I thought lets try GM again.
I've always liked the first gen square bodies,m so after looking for something decent online, I found this gem on copart.
A 1980 K20 with a 350sbc, and manual tranny.
After waiting a couple of months, and spending way more for shipping, than I payed for the truck itself I finally got her.
Truck looks bone stock, like no-one has ever touched it expect the regular maintenance. Has some rust on the rear fenders and one hole on the captain side floor panel, that I have to patch. She got new tires (Michelin G90, super slippery and noisy, but they do look rad on a work truck), a battery, and fired right up! Even moves forward and backwards! Not too bad for a $1500 truck.
Let's go back a bit. Approximately 3 weeks before Montana's (truck came from a Montana dealership, so that's her name from now on) arrival I was involved in a motorcycle accident and ended up in a hospital. Out of boredom I guess, I started browsing copart again and came across another interesting (to me) truck. A '76 k10 also with 350sbc and a manual trans. I lowballed the offer and... won.
At the first glance it has more rust than Montana, but the engine looks like someone has done some work to it (different intake, no emissions, new carb and so on). Oregon (has oregon mudflaps so that the name I guess) should arrive in about two months.
I'm not sure how to forum works yet (should I post a new thread with each truck to document their journeys or keep it here) but I bet you guys will guide me through it!
Sorry for the super long introduction but I hope some of you enjoyed it! And sorry for the hundreds of questions I am about to ask!
All the best from Poland!
