Speedo working but Odometer not working

So now that I polished my gauges and connected my speedo I can actually see how fast I'm driving.

Today it occurred to me while taking my truck for a little drive that the odometer isn't moving.

I guess I'll be pulling the whole cluster out after all. I'm just curious about two things:
1) Anyone seen this? Is it normally fixable? I'm guessing one of the little gears is either broken or slid out of alignment.
2) Aftermarket gauges? Since it's a 74 I have a giant gauge just for my fuel level and, of course, no RPM. Also a whole gauge dedicated to a brake light.

It has an oil line running to it if that matters. I'm not sure if that means I'll probably need to add a sending unit for that(?).

Anyone recommend a good/cheap alternative to this? I'm already fighting dash blinker lights and shifting indicators (which I've seen are integrated with some). Maybe it would be good to just replace the whole cluster.

As far as the speedo, I am not sure on how to repair that. Maybe there is a speedo repair place somewhat close that can help ?

It is interesting that the speedo works as that tells me the speedo cable and transmission drive gear for it work as well.

I am also assuming the oil line you mentioned is for the oil pressure gauge so yes a sender would be needed to go electric. But, mechanical is accurate and what you currently have.

The mechanism for the odometer is pretty simple, but relies several internal parts moving reliably. My guess is that a tab broke off internally, and the only good fix is a new speedometer.

The oil pressure gauge is mechanical, but usually works fine. You can get a tach conversion kit that puts a tach in place of the big fuel gauge, and moves the fuel gauge to the lower left pod. On my truck I also converted the ammeter to a voltmeter (found directions on the net), since the ammeters are usually inaccurate or completely non-functional.

So far it seems like my best option is a new speedo ($100)

And for a tach ($110) - I'm unclear if they make one that has a fuel gage.

and relocate the fuel gauge ($40)

And maybe get a volt gauge instead ($48)

That's still a lot cheaper than buying a whole dash cluster.

OK, So I finally took my whole cluster out so I could address my dead right blinker, the light that powers my fiber cables and of course my odometer.

I have the little tumbler removed. It's clearly stuck. I can spin some of the tumblers if I "unwind" it and then spin them forward but once it hits about half way from 44999-45000 it just locks up so I'm sure that's why it stopped spinning.

My question - can this little tumbler thing be taken apart? It has two brass pins on each side with what looks like washers that are either pressed on or part of the rod.

Obviously I'd rather just repair it. I see them for sale for around $55 so at that point I may as well buy a whole speedo for $99.
