I'm interested as well since I'm putting a cable latch on my non cable truck. I have all the components and have been thinking of rigging something up to make opening easy in case the cable breaks.
I replaced my cable cuz it was starting to fray and I was worried about being in this exact position. Saved that video for the future though, never know when it might happen
